Agreed I would spend the money on a coolant flush or trans fluid change. I did my diff for the first time around 30,000 miles & even then the dealer wondered why I wanted to so soon. I had my coolant done this Spring at the 5 year mark and maybe 35000 miles on the car if that.

Well, if you have a limited slip and want to race or do a lot of WOT starts, it's recommended that you change the diff oil after break-in.

But the OP has a V6 auto with an open diff, so no for him.

Ya it likely would have been a good idea to change mine sooner I suppose but I don't race or do hard launches but I do like to roll into the throttle hard once the car gets moving. If I was doing 1/4 mile passes or road courses I would for sure change it more frequently and sooner.

Thanks for the tip. It was something that was very simple to do and cost very little. I didn't realize it was 100,000 miles.

Diff every 30k is reasonable.

I had my coolant changed at the 5-year interval too, only had 3500 miles. Just one of those things that's time sensitive

I have replaced my wheel bearings (at 50K), but that is under track use. Go with the ZL1/1LE replacements if you do them. Assuming the hubs and axle ends are the same as SS, they should fit.

They are. I put them on my car when I did the brakes.

Again he has the v6 auto. Those wheel bearings do not fit the back of his car. People are still telling him to change his plug wires too. The v6 is coil on plug. Plus differential service for the v6 auto is still 45k. Quit feeding misinformation.

Thanks thats my feeling on the diff too. Yeah coolant needs to be changed by time regardless of low mileage which in your case is really low.

I find it pretty simple, if there are no issues, follow the scheduled maintenance as outlined in the owners manual. Have done this with all my vehicles, many of which have gone well 100K miles, some over 200K, all were running great with no issues when sold/traded in.

Agreed Welker. There is some pretty aggressive maintenance things people do on here. I'm with you on following the manual overall for stuff.

This. I have ruined things and wasted money trying to be overly diligent.

And thanks for the clarification on the diff oil change, Rock-it man!

Just because your engine blew doesn’t mean everyone else’s will. Stop sending everyone into a panic by telling them their engine is gonna blow too.
