More oil filter questions

Searched couldn't find a definitive answer

3.6 V6.

Oil filter Delco shows

PF2129, PF2129G and PF2130 all seem to fit this motor.

Manual says 2129 but I see some people here use the 2130.

thank you for some insight

Getting ready for my first change on this car and want to make sure I've got the right one. Can't always find the Delco's easy around here and not Fram fan.

Yeah I've always wondered what the difference if any between the 2129 2130 was. Then they came out with the 2129G. I picked up a 2129G and will use it on my next oil change.

Also, don't forget to change the o ring on the oil filter housing lid.

I believe the 2130 comes with the o-ring and the 2129 doesn't. IDK why that would matter... but I think that's the only difference.

Not sure what the G series would be about.

I was wondering if the 2129G came with gasket when the regular 2129 didnt?

But then why is there still a 2130???

Great job with these motors, silly as setup with filter designation and no easy to way to find out what one isnt?

The plus side, amazon has 5qt jugs of mobil 1 for 22.xx right now so I ordered 4 jugs. Just need to find the right filter. When 3 different ones 'all fit' I got confused

Maybe the 2129G will just dissolve both the 2129 and 2130 eventually.

Personally I use these filters: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I just love my Wix. Use them in every vehicle.

I have a 2014 Camaro LFX, AC Delco PF2129 is what was called for. On all my collector cars I only used K&N filters. When I first purchased the Camaro I sent to Summit Racing and order 2 K&N filters (PS-7003). OMG was I taken back when they arrived. When I removed the AC Delco I saw that both ends were metal with paper filament between the ends. The K&N even has paper ends! NEVER again. Then one day at O'Reilly's I found the MicroGard MGL57090 filter was half the cost of the AC Delco yet the EXACT filter according to numbers on the filter ends!

Have you ever considered that the filter media has been basically PAPER since the beginning? Something like a coffee filter paper only maybe a little bit stronger? Fiberboard end caps attached to paper seems like we might be over-reacting to the cardboard end caps. Just something to think about.

Just to comment on a post above: the 2129 does indeed come with an o-ring.
