Ambient Lighting Control Question (2LT/2SS/ETC), what does dimmer control?

Hi, I just wanted to post a quick question before I head to bed. Getting ready to order all my AAC lighting accessories tomorrow morning and was curious as to how I would wire it.

Couple of questions for ambient owners

1.) If the Footwell and Cupholder lighting were wired to the ambient lighting in the car (2LT), they're controlled via the car's dimmer, right?

2.) In the car, what does the dimmer control that's stock exactly? The dome lights and door ambient lighting brightness? That's it?

3.) Are there any known tutorials out how to wire something to the ambient lighting?

if you have a 2lt pop off the center gauge cluster pull the plug and use a test light to find your wires i believe its the yellow and black that you use it works very very well doing that

There are 3 blacks under there you want the one on the connector that by it self on the top row( her is why that is the same ground that GM use's for the ABL) , And the yellow.
