Diablosport Predator and Trinity Programmers Available!

Diablosport has recently released their tuning for the 2010 Camaro SS!

The Predator is by far the most popular handheld programmer that we carry.

What is the Diablosport Predator?

The Predator is a state-of-the art, high performance tuning flash programmer in a sleek handheld design. Once connected to the vehicle, the Predators internal computer recognizes the vehicles PCM and automatically picks the proper tuning files designed specifically for that PCM. Inside the Predator's memory are the actual tuning files that optimize spark timing and air/fuel ratio curves. Unlike other 'tuners', DiabloSport's programming is performed in very small increments throughout the entire RPM range, for a smoother, wider and a more predictable power delivery. DiabloSport engineers spend many hours on the dyno, street and track to ensure the tunes provided with the Predator are the best they can be.

Dyno Tested Performance Tunes

The Predator was created with one thing in mind, POWER!
Average power gains are per tune. The Predators additional power makes itself noticeable immediately with an increase in power that starts in the low RPMs and builds into a frenzy at the high RPMs.

A Predator equipped vehicle will notice significant improvements in drivability. The additional power created by the Predator tune will yield quicker acceleration and better mileage, whether it is in town or out on the highway.

The power increase in the lower RPMs will yield a better throttle response. The increase in MPG is a byproduct of maximized engine efficiency, the improved timing curve and air/fuel ratio creates a more complete combustion, i.e. the engine extracts more power from each molecule of gasoline. Customers have reported a 15-20hp increase with this programmer!

Is this something that almost anyboby can use. I have aready put a CAI and MSD 8.5 wires on my Maro 2SS stick and planning to put on LT headers, cat back exhaust and 160 thermostat. By then it will need a tune. My goal is 12 something.

Yes, it is very easy to use. It pretty much walks you through what you need to do and also comes with a detailed manual. You can view that online too - Trinity Users Manual

For some reason they list the U7191 manual for the U7194. Same procedure, different vehicles - http://www.diablosport.com/downloads...nual_U7191.pdf

To understand what this does, plug the hanheld in to your car and it tunes the ECM by optimizing various parameters? Or is there a tune file on the handheld that downloads to your ECM? Never tuned before so I appologize for novice questions.

You plug the programmer into the port under your dash on the driver's side. That provides it with power. The programmer then reads the vehicle's vin number and saves the stock program before uploading the performance tune from the handheld to the vehicle's computer.

Dont know if anyone has the hard numbers just know what Diablo is claiming. 15hp/tq for the L99 and 20hp/tq for the LS3's. That is their canned tunes. They can always be adjusted when adding other parts to your car to help make more.

Will it clear codes and turn off my engine light? It came on after I installed headers. Also, will it go back to stock if I need warranty work? And once I put my VIN in is it only usable for my car? Does it get updates when new info comes out? Thanks for your help

Yes it will clear codes, datalog, etc and you can return the ECU back to stock. It becomes locked to that specific VIN and can not be used on another car unless it is unlocked. Diablo's website will have updates with revisions when available

It all depends on what is done to the vehicle. A custom dyno tune is always better than a canned tune and custom mail order tunes, calibrated for the specific modifications on your car from a tuner is typically better than the canned tunes from flash programmer manufacturers.
