Damn dude sorry to hear about it but I am glad you got a great dealer that is willing to work with the mods already added. Don't know what to think about that though, because I always changed my oil every 5k miles or so. It would be dark but I always thought that was due to the trips to the drag strip.

This is starting to sound like the main bearings are spinning. They have holes in them to allow oil into the area between the crank journal and the bearing surface from the oil passage drilled into the crank journal. When they spin in the block, the oil hole gets more and more closed off to that bearing. If it spins around enough, the hole gets completely closed off and, with no lubrication, it will seize!
There are little tabs on each bearing that are supposed to hold the bearing in place but, I have seen many plain bearing motors spin the bearings due to these tabs failing. Check this out... in the first photo, you can see the little tabs on the edges on the bearings... http://www.engineparts.com/publications/CL77-3-402.pdf

Sorry to hear and Glad they are taking care of you. I was watching my oil also. synthetic in mine and changing about 5000 miles and by 17000 was using about 1/2-3/4 of a qt.I hear these v6's use more the more you rev it high but sounds like something else caused it.

Yeah I can't say this doesn't freak me out, I use Mobil 1 and change every 3k miles just because I'm OCD.

Exactly. There is no tune. Well maybe we'll get to find out a little more from the tear down. My dealer didn't even mess around with a tear down, just ordered a new motor and that was that. And wow our cars are about the same age. Good luck hope everything works out.
I don't think my 2nd motor is quite as strong as my 1st though. My friend drove it who's about the best I've seen at laying down impeccable 60's and concurs. Of course my windows based laptop has been with the geek squad for weeks now and my motor is without something at the moment too. Also just waiting for it to break in too before hmmhmm.

After you get your car back, it would be cool to know how Friday went. Would love to know who got spanked by the brick too LOL.

Ok... I know ROD1 ran a 13.4 vs my 13.6 but I treed him and went through the traps first! He is the only one I was able to actually line up against... Just got to crowded to try and get lined up against others... Not sure what HDRS ran NA... GTO ran I believe a best of 13.68 vs my best of 13.61... Blood was 13.7... And Darkness... well, his ricer math didn't quite work out... LOL!

Lot of wisdom in this, or use Mobil1 and go 5k miles.
