Test drove both. The A10 is the way to go, you can manually shift when you feel inclined or let it do the work.
Big point for me was the flat out straight pull, the shifts happen so quickly there is no let off in acceleration- it just f-in pulls your head back until you let off the go pedal... |

Quicker off the line: A10
Quicker shifts: A10 Stop & go traffic: A10 State of the art: A10 Fun, engaging, connected, rev match, sound of on/off throttle when shifting, feel, cost: M6 M6 for me all day. I would rather endure daily rush hour traffic with a manual than give up the joy and connection you lose with an A10. I don't care which one is quicker, they're both quick enough. |

I opted for the A10. The issues with the TM problems for launching is really what altered my thoughts more than anything.

I just prefer the M6. It is a personal choice. People tend to get very defensive on both sides. I like the interaction with the car with a M6. I drove the auto and it seemed boring. I suggest driving both and make your decision. You can't go wrong either way.

I felt the A6 in the ZL1 was crap. Took years to downshift at WOT. 580 hp should have been faster than the A6 allowed it to be.

Congratulations on the car. You won't be disappointed. I learned to drive on a manual and had one ever since. The A10 is so good you won't miss the manual.
