1LE Shift Knob - Replace ? Which one to use ??

So after a year the shift knob in my car looks like crap, you'd think it was 20 yrs old. It's dirty and completely glazed, even after trying a couple different types of suede brushes. I know the dealer will replace it no problem but why, it'll just look like crap again some enough.
I do like the option of the aftermarket ones that many have used but just wondering if anyone has opted for the leather GM knob that comes with the regular SS. My dealer has no problem replacing mine with the leather one.
Anyone done this yet ? if so, do you like it ??
Thanks

It's a matter of personal preference. Numerous people have a manual SS and have no problem/complaints with the standard knob. It would be no different in a 1LE. Don't know what else you are expecting to hear.

This is one option I made sure I didn't want when was shopping for my used ZL1.

I track so I didn't want the shifter looking like crap after a while.

It's a 2.25" ball... $93.50 w/ adapter and S/H. There are instructions on the forum to remove it... pretty easy.

You strike me as someone who likes the feel of a hard ball (or two).
