I'm trying to decide what new tires to get. Its between the bf Goodrich comp 2 as or the Continental Extreme Contact DWS06. Im about to get headers and tune and i drive on the street. Im looking for some all season tires that have grip if i decide to get on the gas. I dont drive in the rain or snow but I do drive in cold temperatures.

I’ve tried bfg and Michelin’s all season but not continental. But I’ve heard good things of cont. They are all good tires and probably go with the best deal you can get. I run Michelin’s now and am very impressed with their cold temp and very wet condition performance. Bfg’s were the same if not a bit better traction than Michelin’s. Mine were 285’s squared

The extreme contact sports are decent tires. Nothing that will grip great with any real power. Basically like an other max summer performance tire. I got maybe 15k on the rear tires before I needed new ones. The fronts were worn roughly half. What you qould expect from a staggered setup.

Op is inquiring about the Extremecontact, not the Extremecontact sport. Two totally different tires. The first is an all season radial, the latter summer only.

I have the Extreme Contact DWS06's on my 2011 SS, and have ran them ever since I got rid of the Parrelli's that came stock 10 years ago and 115k miles ago. On the front I have 275/35/20 on a 10 inch wheel and on the rear I run 315/35/20 on an 11 inch wheel. The fronts on there now are only the second set she has worn of these tires, no issues, the rears I have been thru 3 sets. They wear really well on the front, just need to keep the tire pressure correct at all times, the rears grip pretty good when they are"new" and up to temp and the tire pressure also is correct, when they get worn pretty good on the rear, then they don't grip as well. All in all I like the tires, they are pretty quiet driving and cruising and ride well too, smooth. In the rain they also drive and handle very well, I'm satisfied with them. I ran Nitto's for a while and didn't like them as much as the Conti's. Hope this helps.. Oh and the price of these tires is right!!

I have heard good things on both. I am running Nitto NT05, not so good all season or wet.


If I had to pick between the Continental and BFG, I'd go Conti due to the availability of sizes. BFG only goes to 275 per Tire Rack. I prefer 275/40*20 & 315/35*20 for my car.

Another thing to consider is country of origin. I used to run Contis on my Audi. Some Contis were made in Germany and some in Mexico. Stay away from the ones made in Mexico. Not the same tire or quality.

How do I know where they are made?

On the sticker label attached to the tire.


Also make sure the date stamp ends with 20, or whatever the current year is if someone is reading this 8 years from now.

On Tire Rack web site, when you see the tire you want to look at, just click on the compare box. then open the compare and it will show country of origin.

The fronts are made in Romania and the rear is made in USA.
