2013 or 2014
I was talking to my wife today and she told me I could get a 2013 ZL1 while I am home for 30 days before I head back to Afghanistan. Though I have been talking to an awesome dealer for a 2014 due for delivery in June next year for my Birthday. The only main thing that is the difference for me is the Recaro seats. Should I pull the gun and get the 13 or wait it out a bit longer?

I'd personally wait, save up your money while your away and have a nice big payment for when you get back. By then you'll be able to sit in one and find out if you even like sitting in those seats.

Plus I've already heard some dealers being dumb on the 14's already charging a few K over MSRP...

It took a good 6 months before MSRP++ settled down. Save yourself some money and get a 2013.

Thats the thing. I have sit in a Camaro with stock seats and a Shelby with the Recaros. Both are comfortable for me.

Becky is good to go, I passed her info on earlier this week to someone. I'm just saying that Recaro seats are not all the same, just slight variations between them all. I guess the next question would be how do you like the new brake lights on the 2014's? And the 14's will have a color hud as well. You probably already knew all that though.

The lights really don't bother me anymore. They did when they first came out, but they grew on me. Color hud really had no affect in the choice.

Go with the '14 unless you can get an awesome deal on a '13 and its not a compromise on what's important to you. Becky will not stear you wrong, she is the best. I've used her on our last two purchases.

Ok so lights and HUD don't matter to you, sounds like it comes down to the seats, sooo...

And the seats are Retro-Fit. On a side note how are things in bama? I'm from Huntsville.

Either one works within my budget. I can work with the dealer we got our Suburban from and get the price into the low 50's

I personally like the 2013 rear end better so I say 13. Looks are subjective though. If you like the look of the 14 get the 14 as it is newer.
I would think the deals should be better on a 13 but have not been looking at pricing since I bought mine. I got supplier price on a 13 last summer so seems like should be able to do better now.

My mom grew up in Huntsville, not sure I have any family to speak of up there, used to have a lot, the Plexicos and the Perrys The rumors about retro fitting the Recaros is that they would be hard to get at first because all of the available ones would go to the Z/28's, but then if they are talking about letting you order a '14 ZL1 with them I don't know. I'm going to say truth is you probably cannot make a bad decision here, I mean the differences are going to be so subtle especially if you would put the Recaros in either way.
