Dash pad adhesive discoloration problem

Hi. It looks like my car had some sort of dash pad installed before I bought it.

When there is a change of temp (hot day, ac turned on) the spots where the adhesive was before start appearing as rectangles. It’s very noticeable and you can see all the spots where the glue pads were placed. Otherwise, the dash looks normal and uniform.

I’ve used McGuire’s vinyl cleaner on the dash and on the surface it feels clean, no sticky residue. I suspect the adhesive residue seeped into the vinyl and is affected by temperature change.

Has anyone run into this before? Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks!

Lol dash pads. Ruin the thing you’re trying to protect.

Try in this order:

15% isopropyl alcohol solution
turtle wax glue and label remover
goo gone auto
goo gone regular

You may be out of luck. The adhesive melts into the dash pad and reacts with the material changing the texture. You might have to either live with it or get a whole new $$$$ dash.
