But I suppose the Sooner faithful have a lot more respect for any team that finished the season with the same record (8-5) last year

Silly horn. And Tejas played who last year? Their "signature" wins were over 10-4 Nebraska and 8-5 Oklahoma. The only top 10 team Tejas played last year beat them handedly. But congratulations on that third Big XII championship. Now the entire state of Tejas has...less championships than we do

Does anyone here know where the hostility between OU and Texas stems from?

I mean, as a former member of the LHB, I have a few legitimate reasons to hate Sooner fans, but for the most part all of the Sooner fans and Longhorn fans just blidnly hate each other without even wondering why that is. I find it a bit humorous...

Well, see if it was not for the state of Texas, OU could not field a team (not a top 25 team)! Being a fifth generation UT grad, I don't hate OU people; I just wish they would change the name to "The University of Texas @ Norman"!

I think the hate starts with the fact that OU has been more successful over the years and decades than Texas and Texas feels crapy about it because OU does it with less talent than them. Or at least supposed to be less talent.

I mean, Texas DOES get the first pick of in state recruits.......... right?
