You did miss something. the Zl1 you are referring to is the SLP ZL1, not the GM ZL1. You can see SLP's press release regarding the new Chevrolet ZL1 on SLP's website.

all i know is that GM has to step up there game, and make a camaro actually be able to handle a turn. the 5.0L can compete with M3 on the turns and in a straight line stock. and then they made the GT500 lighter, and now the BOSS. i no longer call mustangs muscle cars. they are sports cars. GM WHERE ARE YOU!

The only reason I'd buy a Z28 over a ZL1 would be if they put an LS7 in it and put it on a diet, but left the PTM, MSRC and the other handle great stop fast goodies. Other than that, I'll go with a ZL1. I don't want a track car.

Well, I really like what I saw in the SSX. If GM were to make the Z28 something along that line with a stroked and bored motor and if it was still cost effective for them to produce I would be all for it.
Is the Boss a model that is going to be part of the "regular" line up for Mustang fans or is it just a special order kind of car? I would think that I Ford decided to make it part of the regular line up that would make the possibility of a Z28 much more likely.

I would like a Z/28 with the LS7 motor. But with the LSX block & the LSX-DR heads. On a lighter platform, much lighter. I got shot down, when I said this the last time, by you guys. But Thats what I would want, If I had a choice. I maybe dreaming. But I am 60 years old and I would like one last Bad ASS car while I can still enjoy it. With that block & head combo. You could do your own performance up grades to it. Turbos, supercharger, or NOS ETC!!!.

Of Course!! The Z/28 is not just a name plate for me!! Although I know that GM is not Burger King, but this would be my set up: High Rev 5.3L with better high flow heads, "hot cam", a better intake maybe from the LS3, factory shorty headers, high flow midpipes (Looking for 450HP), lighter rotating mass (wheels and tires) Carbon fiber hood, doors, fenders and trunklid, keep the creature comforts of heat and a/c (i believe to be only like a 50-75lb weight increase) NO ONSTAR, connectivity and stuff like that, light weight recaro seats (don't need heated seats) dont really need power windows, lighter weight tubular K-frame with A-arms instead of the weird looking set up we currently have and adjustable shocks/struts. Did I miss anything? Oh yeah and no pickles!
