Heavy Chevy 2013 VR 1LT RS

Here is the back story:
My wife and I were sitting on our back deck enjoying a 2013 early Summer day in Michigan, while our kids play in the back yard.
Some how our talks turned to finances, and the amount of money I had been spending on gas. At the time I was driving a 2011 Silverado LTZ, which replaced my 2008 Impala SS. Both the Impala and Silverado had the 5.3L V8 with active fuel management but only averaged 16 miles per gallon. I drive 30-35,000 miles a year for work, she rattled off some numbers on how much we would save if I were to get a "car" to drive during the months that the weather permitted. So to appease her I shot up to the local Chevy dealership just to browse, come home and enjoy the rest of my day.
When I got there they were just unloading some cars from the trailer. I didn't pay that much attention to what they were but did notice something red in the middle of mostly white and silver cars. I spent about a half an hour talking to the salesman (who is a friend of my family) about cars and MPG. He wanted me to take a look at the Malibu, I reluctantly said sure I'll look. As we were walking outside they were pulling a 2013 1LT Victory Red Camaro RS on to the concrete display pad in front of the dealership, I thought to myself "she did say get a car"! Two hours later I pulled into our drive way.

She didn't believe me at first, until I brought in the paperwork from the dealer and she noticed the paper plate in the back window. To my surprise she was just as excited as I was! I got the car to be a daily driver so the 26.5 MPG I am got for the six months I drove it was great. I have to admit I did not expect to have that much fun with a V6 car, and I am very impressed with the LFX motor. I do not expect to drag race or race the car at all (while my wife is watching....), so most of the mods will be cosmetic.
I have had the car in storage since November, and I am itching to drive it again soon. To this point in my life cars have just been transportation from point A to B. I have always done small things to personalize my vehicles. But it's a different feeling to be excited to work on and drive something to be proud of, I like it!

Here are some pictures of how she was when I put her in storage.

I have a GM GFX V6 front spoiler sitting in my garage, going out to get painted matte black next week. ZL1 rockers are being shipped as we speak, as well as 4300k DRL's and a Gen5diy DRL harness (not sure why GM didn't do this from the factory).

I am planning to do some work on the interior, replace the black cloth door, dash panels and center counsel with carbon fiber. Add a 4 pack of gauges and red led foot lighting. I actually like the cloth seats, I may have the head rests embroidered but that would be all.
On the exterior I am planning on changing the chrome tail light surrounds with gloss black, blacking out the rear panel, painting the spoiler gloss black and changing the Camaro lettering to black or removing it. I am looking into the lower grille air ducts, but think it may make the front end look too busy? Also I am going to change the stripe, I found a single pinstripe outlined hood roof and trunk stripe I like better.
As for performance, I am going to add a Vmax ported throttle body. I may add the scoop and washer bottle relocater, but I'm not sure. I am going to attempt to make some carbon fiber under hood dress up items, and add a strut tower brace (because it looks cool).
I am a big fan of the wheels, so those are staying and I don't plan on changing the suspension because I like the way the car rides.

I have done all the current mod's myself, and I think I am going to continue that trend. So I may use this thread for some DIY help as well!

Feel free to leave opinions and suggestions, and we will see where we go from here!

Had some time to do a few little things today. 4 pack gauges installed and started to work on the carbon fiber wrap for the door and dash panels.

Well I figured I would have the interior panel inserts done and installed so I can start on the exterior mods, but have been waiting over two weeks for a set that I ordered from a member on here. I have the door panels and inserts out, taking up room on workbench. How have you guys dealt with not receiving parts that have been ordered and paid for? How long would you wait to file a PayPal dispute?

Has there been any contact with them in the two weeks? I had a issue with my last car from a forum vendor. Had zero contact for two weeks, filed a dispute with paypal, took another week or so for them to review it, make their attempt to contact them, then for me to get my money back.
If it's been two weeks without any communication, I'd go ahead and file a dispute. You can always cancel it, like say if he gets ahold of you in the next couple days.

Parts are on their way, but I'm leaving for Florida tomorrow. Oh well they will be here when I get back. I'm dying to get started to the exterior stuff but won't take the car out until it warms up some. Half of my garage is full of boxes, I keep opening them and looking them over. I need to paint the spoiler and rockers but it's too cold.....
Need to find someone to embroider the headrests. That and the door panels and the interior will be done.
