So what are local Camaro owners doing about Winter?

I'm still contemplating my Camaro purchase and one thing I am having to consider is the TIRES. I live in the Tacoma/Olympia area and I'd guess we have 40's and below temps at least half the time during Winter. And it's wet a little bit, too.

I was going to order the RS package, but it comes with the 20" Summer PZero tires that are NOT recommended for 40's and below temp. So that means different tires (maybe even wheels) for 3 months or so a year. Not so worried about our light, infrequent snowfall (will drive the Explorer), but the temps! Right now there are not many 20" All Season or Snow tires.

So I am thinking that here, it makes more sense to drop the RS (bye, bye HID lights) and keep the 19" wheels. My understanding is that comes with PZero All Season tires instead.

Any comments or thoughts? Thanks!

Rob

I plan on driving mine year round, unless snow is predicted. If there's snow falling, I'll be in my 4WD truck, if the roads are clear I'll be in the Camaro. Not going to worry about temp. I have my '67 for my toy, which doesn't even see the rain, so the 2010 is being driven all year round....not a toy for me, it's a year round driver and I plan on treating it as such.

I plan to drive the camaro year round, not worried about temps and such. If snow is falling will simply take the 4wd suv. not a big deal.

Yep! It's gettin' garaged! I have a 4wd pickup to drive in the winter.
I want to keep the car in good shape for my grandson. He'll get it when I pass, but not any time soon though.

Garage here in NY. But I will take it out on nice days. No better weather than cold weather for more power!

The more I think about it, I think I'll just have to skip the RS package to keep the 19" wheels and the all season tires. Too bad, because I wanted the HID headlights. Or maybe I'll go ahead and try to swap the wheels/tires with someone or dealer take-offs.

Live in Southern Ohio. Not a ton of snow each year but enough to keep mine garaged. I don't go out in the winter much anyways (stay-at-home mom) except to go to the store and to the gym, both of which are a mile away. I can wait til hubby gets home and drive his Durango to both of those. Kids ride the bus. I'm set!
