Weld Fitment 17"- 1LE
So everyone seems a little on the fence as to what's required for welds especially on the 1LE. So here's going to be a little documentation-
Suspension mods: BMR toe rod. Trailing arms. Subframe bushings. 1.25" rear only drop springs. Weld 17x10" RTS-s77b Didn't seem to have too much fitment issue mounting. But have heard several people suggest grinding the head of the sway bar bolt. Which I still plan to do. But primarily I just cut the rubber bushing in half and created a gap of 3/4"-1" between the closest part of the bolt on the wheel. While the body is supported and I have the LCA jacked up to simulated the weight of the car. 16.5" from the center of the hub to the fender edge. As said I am still going to taper off the bolt just for extra giggles. And will likely end up with BMR LCA. But for the time being. This is where we sit. Photos in chronological order. |

Great pics... My 18" welds scrapped on a stock ZL1 front end.
The barrel on the 18 is essentially the same size as the 17" because the lip is toward the outside where the 17 doesn't lip up until it hits the center piece. |

Well my setting distance from hub center to fender is 16" I reset it all last night to measure. Driver around then measured. So I didn't have the LCA jacked quite up far enough. Was just lifting the body at that point. Feel like it would definately be a mod less install if I didn't have drop springs
