Regret your trade up to ZL1??
this may have been beat to death in past months/year but I am test driving two ZL1s tonight and am nervous to trade my heavily modified 2SS. Does anyone for any reason other than prices (LOL) regret trading up to the ZL1 and losing all of the work you did on your SS??
Also, I have found a 2012 ZL1 with 2270 miles on it for 52K and this seems like a great deal to me!! Opinions? thoughts? I hope to join your group so soon! |

If it's 52K out the door, sure. I'm getting my 2013 ZL1 for $55,250 + tax/title.

I don't have a whole lot of work put into my car yet but I would go with the ZL1.

RedWings, that is a great price for new. The dealership has a new one stickered at 59K and this one is stickered at 52K but I know I can work them down on the used one, wasn't sure how low I could work on the new one.
Is yours loaded options wise? |

You will always miss your old ride but a ZL1 in your driveway will help get by.

I had about $10k in mods that I ate on trade-in, but the only time I regret trading is on car payment day.

Man thats a tuff call, ask yourself what is it that makes you want the zl1 after all that work to your SS! Is it worth it, maybe you can make some changes to your car to get that feel back! I have thought about myself but I feel like I would rather keep mine and keep going on it! I wanted my SS so bad and it was like a dream when I got it home, it makes me feel like I should stick her and really make it everything I ever wanted. Idk I guess I have a soft spot for my ride because I worked so hard for it! Now if were talking a zo6 trade up I would consider lol!

I went from a decently modded GTO (see sig) to the ZL1 and I will admit that I miss the GTO but its definitely nice having the blower on from the factory. My GTO which everyone thought was clean and done really well felt rough around the edges. The ZL1 has a much smoother clutch and it feels more put together since it came like that. Hope that makes sense.

Wow! I know right where you are coming from. I bought mine from a dealer which was 400 miles away. I drove my low-mile, pristine, slightly modded 2010 2SS rally yellow to MI hating knowing that I was going to be leaving my baby behind at the dealer. By the time I got back home with the 2012 ZL1 - AGM, I was over my sorrow.
Sometimes, I still wish that I could have been in a financial position to keep both of them. Even though my wife very much likes the ZL1 she lets me know that one Camaro is enough in the garage. Not sure she is right. |

Nah, only option I got on mine was the navigation, I don't need to pay extra money for someone to not paint a carbon fiber insert, or microsuade steering wheel and shifter, or a sunroof my wife won't let me open if she's in the car haha.
I think MSRP ended up being $57,345 or somewhere around there, getting it for $55,250 seemed pretty good to me. I couldn't be happier to go pick it up on May 1st.

Why not just SC the SS? is it the styling, warrenty, or something else that is making you have second thoughts? I can understand being attached to a car though... I do miss my WRX but the vert SS is just as nice in a very different way. |
