V-Max - WARNING

In April 2015 I bought a ported throttle body from VMAX, soon after I started to have a drivability issue, I thought it was in the tune. After several months chasing a problem, we found that the throttle blade was sticking slightly, no codes thrown. Contacted Pete at VMAX, he went as far to say that how did he even know if it was his throttle body, offered no replacement or help in repairing, said it was mechanical in nature and not his problem. May be mechanical, but he did have to dis assemble the unit to port it. I cannot take to dealer for a warranty replacement, he will not help in taking care of the customer. I urge all to look elsewhere when looking for a ported throttle body. Pete was rude and cussed me on the phone , I was professional. All I asked was for an exchange unit. I am out the 150.00, lessoned learned.

That's one reason I didn't return my original throttle body. I'd rather be out 150 for the core return. Sorry to hear about your situation. Good luck

explain said "sticking"... sticking open/closed? I've had a vmax over a year and have not seen any driveability issues... just trying to better understand what you're experiencing

Well that sucks...

I tried to install one on my ZL1 before my last track day and it caused a rough surging idle. When I put the stock OEM back on the idle returned to normal. I was able to return the unit and get credit for my purchased. I did buy mine from JDP and they were great about it.

Part throttle was not opening smooth, causing driveability issues. Would feel like it was starting to stumble when accelerator was depressed then take off like a bandit. Blade would not open m linear. Stock tbody resolved all issues

^^^This is the way it should be. Most will do just fine with a Vmax TB but it's also very common to have issues like this and it should be taken care of by the vendor. Kudos to JDP.

Although I had no issues with Vmax, Bo is probably the Man to fix it.
