Question Injectors for LSA Build

I have an LS3 Camaro SS and I'm gathering parts for my LSA build. I'm probably looking at maxing out at around 600 whp. I've decided on 850 injectors over the stock LSA. My questions are:

Any pros/cons against buying used? There are several FIC and ID 850s for sale with varying degrees of mileage. Buying these used are a couple hundred dollars less than new. Is that wise? My car has 50K miles if that matters....

Just wondering what folks thoughts are on this.

Thanks for the feedback.

I bought ID850's used with no issue, but I also had them professionally flow tested and cleaned before install. Private party sale.

Thanks and that's definitely a consideration. How much does flow testing and cleaning cost?

20-25 per injector. FIC and ID both do it and there is a guy Mr. Injector who does them.

Depends on where you have it done... I sent my ID1700x injectors back to Injector Dynamics and it cost $200 plus $15 shipping to have them Cleaned and Inspected (flow tested). I know other places that specialize in injectors would do it for less, but... ID provided a pre-clean and post-clean service report for flow deviations of varying pulsewidth.

Based on the price to clean and flow test, it's almost better just to buy new.

Are you upgrading your pump? I completed a similar build, I used 850s at first on my LS3 fuel pump. Then when I upgraded to a dual fuel pump I went to ID1000s. I was able to resell my 850s to get my 1000s, both were used.

If you have headers and a good tune your LSA should get you to 600rwhp. I dynoed in December and hit 597rwhp.

I'm pairing the 850s with a ZL1/Chevy SS fuel pump. Did you/do you use a BAP? Are you still just using your LS3 pump?

I have headers, gutted cats now so hopefully I can get there (600 whp) too relatively easy.

I have a AGP Dual Fuel Pump, plenty of fuel. Take a peak at my build, we are running a very similar setup. My upper pulley is 2.85 and lower is a ZL1. I pulled 597rwhp. I am now looking at a 2.55 upper and a 10% lower. That should push me over 600 easily. Another answer to some additional HP you might want to look at before install is porting out the snout of the blower and getting a 103 mm TB.

ZL1 pump is getting close to its limits at 600whp.

Thanks I see now you have the AGP Dual Fuel Pump. Did you have to change out much to put on the ZL1 lower pulley? Or is it a straight swap on the LS3? Just curious. I'm gonna stick with the LS3 pulley to start and the stock LSA one to baseline with the ZL1 fuel pump. Good idea about the snout.

Yep, and I know when/if I get near that that it will be time to upgrade the fueling!

I wish I would have done id1050 at the start and skipped the zl1 pump all together. Now I need bigger injectors and a dsx fuel pump kit. I'm pretty much maxed out. My duty cycle was like 80% or something if I remember correctly. I should have done something similar to Valkyrie14. Spend the little extra money and be done with it the first time if your able to. Just my thoughts.
