I was embarrassed by a bright orange brand new 392 Charger yesterday from around a 40 roll. I understand that the transmission on those cars is miles ahead of my 6L80, but the the way he was pulling on me was not expected. Now, he had already prepared using his paddles and downshifted to the perfect rpm ready to go, while I left it in full auto mode (S) (with the stock stall!), like an idiot. The Charger sounded amazing and at a minimum had exhaust work done, but sure behaved stronger than just stock. I have pulled on other 392's off the line before, so this was a shock to me and my ego. I know a decent bit of this was a result my being stupid with the trans and also having little roll racing experience, but it was a clean win for the Charger either way. *Of course, this all took place on a track as I would never condone doing this on the streets.

I apologize for the derail, but you mentioning that you want to be able to 'walk 392 hemi Challengers' suddenly rings familiar with me and may be my new goal post...at least for the time being. I just had no idea those 392's were that strong. Oh yeah, and I need a stall convertor bad.

I walked one twice from a roll. He couldn’t believe it and asked? Man,Why did you do that to me. Those 392 challengers are no joke.

Damn brother haha. Honestly, you need a big converter and in a bad way. I walked hard on a 392 last summer. Converter is such a huge upgrade for these cars when dealing with stock. Throw a nice cam in and its a full blown must!!

I put a car and a half to 2 cars on a stock 392 with my tsp stage 2 cam only from 40-130. They jump out hard but die out on the top end. Im also on stock converter.

Idk everyone feels like our 5th gens are so slow. I just think many people need to learn how to street race. No offense but these cars move and can keep up with a lot of cars out there. Are they as fast as newer other cars in this league? No the new coyote 10 speeds and 392 are fast and so are 6th gen Camaros. But we keep up with all other cars around our year and mopars are heavy and have no top end.
But with a few mods they are quicker than those. And even more mods when you get to the 600+ range you can beat almost everything in the street even hellcats.

I've had a set of their 243 stage 2 heads. They were quality looking heads. I even dealt with one of the owners over there purchasing a used engine. Stand up guys.
