headers and 5 inch intake

I have a 2012 zl1 6 speed manual that was stock. I want to do headers and a cold air intake to make it sound better. I went with arh 2 inch headers no cats, rpm 5 inch intake, 160 thermostat and plugs. Had my friend tune it on a dyno jet it made 518hp with it in the 80s out side. I was happy with that with not much to go by in comparison since its a stock pulley. Wish it had more blower whine guess next mods will be injectors and pulley.

A pulley will add back some whine over the louder exhaust you now have.

Adding headers you have to ditch the belly pan, I believe?

The belly pan can stay on. It just needs to be modified a little at the collectors.

I believe the 2014-2015 ZL1's came with a slightly different belly pan than the 12-13's. It allows more room for headers w/o cutting.

did you do a stock baseline dyno run? curious to know what the net gain was for HP/TQ. How did that RPM 5" intake install go? With that large intake you may want to consider porting the snout/intake with your next round of mods.

I love blower whine so I sound piped it, a lot of people think I am crazy for doing that but I love it.

Correct. I swapped to the later version years ago when I added 2" headers. No issues.
