Question on Tire Size and Wheel Offset
I need to replace my rear tires. I had planned that when I got new tires I was going to get new wheels along with going wider with 315's. I have been looking at the Chrome Foose Outcast's with Nitto NT05 315/30/ZR20 on the rear. I have read many threads and I know that 315's on wheels with the right offset will work without rubbing. However I do have a few questions.
1. The Foose Outcast's only come in 20x9 front and 20x10 rear. From what it shows on the Nitto site the minimum width for 315's is 10.5 inches. Will the 315's fit on a 10 inch wheel? 2. I don't know anything about wheel offset. If the 315's will fit on the 20x10 Foose Outcast's what offset will I need. From my understanding I need to get the +35 offset. Is this correct? As always, thanks if advance for any info. |

315's are too wide (as you noted yourself).

I'll have to disagree with JimE. I have 315/35-20 Nittos on 20x10 Drag-64's. They fit perfect, no rubbing and the answer is yes on +35's for the rear. You can run +23 to +25 offset on the front (or +35 all the way around).

Sure they fit, but they aren't recommended as noted at Tire Rack and numerous tire vendors here at C5. Will it hurt the tire? likely not. But it will affect how the tire performs as the smaller wheel squeezes the tire bead inward and changes the sidewall orientation (bowed inward as opposed to straight).
In any event, you don't have to trust me or any one else posting on a forum. Check with a quality vendor like Tire Rack. |
