What car would you drive if you couldn't drive a Camaro?
I'll start. If couldn't buy a Camaro, I would probably look hard at the Tesla. I know it not in the same category, but I'm an electronic geek and love the huge screen of the Tesla and it is faster than the Hellcat in a straight line!

2015 Subaru STI.
I was looking for a sports car under 40k, so my options were Mitsubishi Evo, Subaru STI, Nissan 370z, 2015 Mustang GT and Camaro SS 1LE. Evo had absolutely no power at low RPMs and not quite enough at high RPMs. 370Z had no rear seats (I did want the rear seats, since it's my only car.) 2015 Mustang felt like a boat. STI was a little down on power and it's not a true sports car configuration - no big V8, not RWD and poor weight distribution, but otherwise was a joy to drive. Camaro 1LE won, because it felt the closest to a true sports car. So here I am. |

Not a fan of the new Aston Martin Stang... so being a V8 coupe guy, it would have to be a Chally.

370z nismo, WRX STI or Evo X.
I love visceral cars with great handling and a manual transmission. |

Cars I would cross-shop for a 1LE today (same price range) would include the new Mustang GT Track Pack, a very used BMW 335i/435i, M3/M4 or M5, or an Audi S5.
I chose the 1LE, in part, because I got the performance of the Europeans with a full warranty and in a new vice used car. The current Mustang wasn't out when I bought my 1LE, but that may have been a closer call, except for the fact that I like the stance and front end looks of the Camaro better.
