Nice part of town doesn't matter...it is the number of claims filed by people in your zip. The more that people in your area utilize their insurance for whatever type of claim...your insurance will be higher.

The one issue you are seeing is that there is starting to be a "record" for the Camaro as its been out a year. The actuaries are able to better forecast their numbers for all ages, locations, trim levels, transmissions, etc. Unfortunately it sounds as if you are just "lucky" and in the high risk group.

Shop around with different brands of insurers and see what they can come up with...high prices were what moved me to Allstate 16 years ago...25 with a Corvette...my old insurer wanted $400+ a month for my vette and I was able to move to Allstate and insure my truck and vette for $200 a month.

Good luck!

I had to wait until I was 25 to even remotely afford insurance on a Mustang/Camaro type vehicle.

i pay around 140$ a month for a 2010 2SS RS and i'm a 23 year old male, and i have a DUI on my record(long story, and being 20 and stupid).. So 400 a month is very high. I don't have any other tickers/violations.

Get a quote through progressive...

This also includes some discounts like the good student discount.

Has anyone else under 25 gotten a better quote from somewhere, and if so, where?
This is why. Just the way it is.
