A little clarity please

I got on the thread this morning and apparently i missed out on a very busy day while i was sleeping. What were the main points made at the IDL? Is there a link to where I can see a thread that has some concise answers? From what I gather about the 140+ posts in the single thread from Fbodfather, production got pushed back a month? V8 pre-orders have to wait? My head was spinning after the first few posts lol. Can anyone help me out?

I think this is the best summary:

Start of production NOW 3/16/09

TRUE HP #'s

L99 = 400 HP
LS3 = 426

Convertible as a 2011 model

Ambient lighting - NO NEW NEWS

Factory may apply more stripes in near future

UPDATE:

ALL OFFERED DISCOUNTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM DAY 1

Door Sill plates STANDARD on V8's, and available for V6's

SS demand not a big concern, it may or may NOT be a cause for a constraint

Brake calipers are BLACK with CHEVROLET in WHITE, and BREMBO in RED

HERITAGE GRILLE has a bowtie gold badge

1 month delay not a result of Cadence supplier issues - secondary suplliers already up to speed

Rear gears: 327 in V6, and 345 in V8's (EDIT: 345 may not be in both V8s)

Perelli snows recommended for 20" with factory perf tires if in a snowy area

All sold orders anticipated to be built by the October consensus period. (assuming a dealer did not oversell!)

with one correction... the 345 gears are NOT in both V8's (according to my reference book). I just took notes on items of interest, and I think this was not quite right.

What are the correct gears for each? or which will get the 345?

There was two rear gear sets, one for the V6 and one for the V8 mentioned in the IDL. They said one for the v6, one for the v8.....but my spec book says 3.27 in the v6 AND the v8 With the automatic. Sorry for the confusion.

Gears with a lower number ie: 2.55:1 are High... <ahem> they allow highway cruising at lower rpm's but the acceleration is slower.

Gears with a higher number ie: 4.10:1 are low... <I know, I know, it seems backwards> this sort of gearing allows greater torque multiplication at lower speeds for pulling heavy weight, quicker acceleration, and yes, easier burnouts.
hope that helped
