Great deal on ARH headers with 2" primary's arrived....

Plus did the race intake conversion after seeing Marks - thanks for install info!

Jet Hot coating has to be redone though, ARH told them to coat all BUT the cats - instead, they did the headers and cats.

nah...hate is too strong a word for that. Just not a big fan of any Vette past 1973.. I just like to give people s**t too....,and it's good to see you taking it in stride and hitting back without taking it personally. It's all bench-racing, and smack-talking here, like it should be.
I hope to see everyone at the Golden Cruise...still cramming on parts, etc. and it needs to still get tuned\dyno-ed, but I need to get a bunch of parts painted this weekend, or it ain't happening. Too much stress!!!!
Ran into another issue with some fuel rail parts that I need to overnight now, if the manufacturer can find a set.. OMG! I should have bought a Kia!

I will have to check out that intake conversion in person come Oct.1. I don't think it will apply for my upcoming setup, but I'd like to see it.

Those headers look awesome, but I can't believe that Jet Hot would be dumb enough to actually coat the cats. Kinda defeats the purpose of the cat if you restrict its ability to get to a certain temperature to burn off the excess fuel, etc. Just another vendor!! I know all too well what it's like having to have things done and then redone over and over again on my project. You need to register that car out in the sticks or down here somewhere and get away from that emissions crap. Cats are for girls! Pretty sure I've said that before. Looking forward to hearing that exhaust!! 2" pipes on a small block is B-I-G!!! That's going to sound fantastic when you get into it.

ok...back to waiting for Edelbrock to call....waiting..waiting...waiting..

The cats will go on for 1 week every 4 years.... that's the primary reason they weren't supposed to be coated. I don't think the ceramic will effect the temp of the cats, if anything the internal temp will rise - which would help the cats work better in longtubes. However, the ceramic coating will never survive on the cats - way too high of temps. I've heard way too many incidences of burned up cats at higher power levels to run them contantly - just asking for problems. Especially if a 2-step is ever used..... burns up the cats quickly. See you at Golden

You should not have a problem with the coating on the cats. The coating will turn a nice grey finish, but it will never come off. Benefit of Jet Hot.

Also the cats from ARH hate superchargers anyways. I have had problems on cars running 12lbs plus of boost. Good call on only using them when needed.

Graham at Lingenfelter said they haven't found a cat that will survive the higher power boosted engines. I'm sure you've seen the same. Figured I didn't want to pull pieces out of the muffler or blow head gaskets. LPE actually gutted the insides of the cats on one customers car. 2-steps difinitely kill them or rich conditions that ARH attributes to "bad tuning", but is common to boosted engines. Nice to know the coating doesn't come off.
