Unhappy Question for Scott Settlemire (Fbodfather) (Passenger Seat)

Many agree the Passenger Seat is too low for some.

A) Scott you had agreed and said you would be working on a repair.

B) We also were told not to do our own modifications for safety reasons and the seat had "800" sensors".

C) Also told a pillow could be used, I used doubled up Beach towels.

D) I personally verified a corrected passenger seat on the 2011's and was advised by Dealer Service that changes were made to the lower seat rail height.

How long do I have to drive my new Camaro like this with my hands tied on any other options? It is very annoying to get in the car and look at the seat every day!

Just level the playing field- and lower the driver seat

How come there's no stitching on you gear shift knob?

there is no stitching because it is an LS. It has a plastic/rubber knob rather than a leather covered with stitching. (i think)

Just tell your passenger that they don't need to see over the dash. You'll warn them to brace themselves if you are gonna hit anything head on.

I wouldn't hold you breathe for anyone to fix it. The '10 is history.

Throw a spacer or two under the rear frame rail at the rear bolts. Problem solved. The front of the seat is plenty high enough. Raising the back mounting a bit make a nice improvement. If you need longer bolts make sure to use grade 8.

I don't always do what I'm told, I do what works.

I'm not sure what a washer under the seat might do in an accident? Maybe squish .000001th of an inch? Raised mine over a year ago, still no issues with the "800 sensors", whatever that means.

You can wait for them to fix it, just don't hold your breathe. It took a year and half for a simple rear spoiler rubber washer bulletin. Redesign the seat on a past model? Never going to happen.

I mean I understand your complaint and agree that it is a little low. Though I never ride in the passenger seat, and my 5'4" girlfriend has no problem seeing over the dash.

But all those pictures? Were they really necessary? Putting spacers on the rail frame wont hurt anything or anyone and its an easy fix

GM only posts bulletins for repairs on things that are actual issues. The passenger seat being lower then you like is not an issue.

The only real fix is wait until '12s come out. They are suppose to have 6 way adjustable passenger seats and we've been told will be interchangeable with '10s and '11s. Just buy one of those and have your dealer install it. GM will not do it on their dime as there is nothing wrong with the passenger seat.

I thought LS's were black interiors only. I guess not, but I think it's a rip that LS's get matching gray accent panels on the doors and dash but my 1SS did not w/ the same gray interior. I'm stuck w/ basic black panels. GM, are you listening?!?!?!

What?!!

A lot of cars don't have height-adjustable passenger seats. It's a simple fact of life that your passenger may/may not be able to see over the dashboard.
