Well it looks like the cop car took a lot of damage...

And for all the internet experts on here telling me (and others) that we are "retarded" about saying its minor damage... ITS MINOR. Search for the white Camaro that split hitting ht pole... it was only posted about 50 times... thats MAJOR.

This is a MINOR repair... OK OK relax, maybe my 4-5K fix is a bit off but its by no means totalled!

I agree that what I can see is not major damage

But to call it 'minor' because it isn't 'major'...this is life, not a rulebook, and real life events often defeat a textbook or cubbyhole answer

Minor damage is a dented door, a broken tail-light, a crumpled fender or a broken grille. Minor damage does not expose the inside of your 1/4 panel to the elements and peel the sheetmetal off like tinfoil. That ain't buffing out

you have not seen the car in person, nor is that the best picture. Insurance adjuster was here, so far im rolling in on 15k in damage, so I will keep you posted on what the costs are going to be.

as i said, you need to see it in person

In any car accident the #1 rule is to get a lawyer, or you will get screwed over, even by your own insurance company, insurance adjuster are paid to low ball n screw you, its their job.

Cars are so expensive any more that you have to due very major damage to get one totalled. Good luck either way.

I was thinking the same thing. What did the cop say?

everyone in the car was ok, except for minor whiplash for one
Maybe you can get it replaced..My son had a 6month old Chevy PU that a gal hit when it was parked out in front of his house. Didn't look like much damage but he was persistant and first offered $5k by her insurance company. Finially it was totalled..Check and see if your state has "dimished value" because it's so new and will never be sold for what it could be sold for if not in an accident. Talk to the dealer, and see what they'd buy it from you "as is" in trade for another Camaro..

Funny thing was the day my son's truck was hit we were going to go pick it up for his trade on his new Camaro that had just come in to the dealer. They told him his truck was actually worth more damaged for parts then as whole.

All in all it was a hassle but worked out, hope it does for you. If someone ever hit my Camaro I'd be a crazy woman.. That car is my baby!

Good luck let us know how things turn out..

Some states also differ, when I was stationed in GA and had an accident (not at fault) my car was totaled. Not 100% sure what the insurance company said at the time...but it was something along the lines of, they take the value of the car subtract the depreciated value and if the sum of the expenses was 75 percent or more of that "corrected" figure they considered it totaled...dont know if its the same everywhere though?
