Greeting Other Camaro Drivers on the Road

I found a similar thread in the Gen5 site but nothing in this forum. Relatively new as a Camaro owner and wanted to know what you all do, if anything, to acknowledge other Camaro drivers when you see them. Do you wave, give them a thumbs up, honk, or do nothing?

On the freeway, a fellow Camaro driver pulled along side, honked and gave me a thumbs up. I was taken by surprise and just smiled but since my window was open, I raised my arm up out the window and waved as he drove off. I felt dorky.

I give a short wave or a thumbs-up generally. I've only had a couple actually return any acknowledgement, probably just not looking.

Yes I always wave, and to Gen5 camaros as well. Its about 50/50 the dudes seem more friendly than the females! But i also assume not everyone is paying attention and a small percentage look at you like you have lost your marbles.......

Depends, usually a wave or a rev. I always feel bad when I notice a wave at the last moment. I always end up feeling weird haha.

I'll wave or acknowledge them in some way when I can. Which is usually always.

I wave, although it's become a bit confusing. I was recently in a crash so my Camaro is actually in the body-shop and I'm driving my 1989 Ford Bronco around at the moment instead. I keep going to wave, then realize they'd just wonder why that guy in the old Ford Bronco is waving at them. Also, I do wonder if gen 5 guys will be like "oh, look at you in your fancy new gen 6, you ponce. Who do you think you are, waving at me - the Queen of England?"

Anyway, so...yeah, wave. I quite like it, being a former biker - takes me back to the old sideways-head-nod of fellow biker acknowledgement. Watch out for those times where you're concentrating more on trying to wave at somebody than actually driving, though. Those near-misses are embarrassing.

Lhughes, what's the name or subject of the thread in Camaro6 where this is discussed? I searched and would like to see the replies. thanks. Ecchi667, good points. No matter how well meaning the gesture, still can be misunderstood. Like when GW Bush gave the Peace or the V sign with his palm towards himself, he didn't know he was in a sense flipping off a group of Australians.

I think waving is weird. When I ride my motorcycle, other motorcycles wave to me... I don't wave back... (hey, they even do it from the oncoming side of the freeway!

the only time i felt like waving was in a boat, you pass another boat, you wave... cus basically you are on vacation, so I'm ok with that

otherwise I don't care what you are driving and I don't want anybody noticing me either.

mr grumpy.

I'll wave if I personally know someone. Though I dont scan the traffic looking at people and I see more ferrari's around here than 6th gens.

I do not see the one, must have moved it. The other that has a lot of info is called "Anyone getting compliments or negative remarks on your cars?"
