Can we use *aftermarket* v8 exhaust systems too?

Was just perusing eBay of exhausts and it hit me -- if v6 guys can take the catback from a SS and install it on our cars, why can't we also use ANY aftermarket SS exhaust package if we find it at a good price? If the v6 and v8 stock exhaust hooks up the same, what would be the difference between the aftermarket exhausts?

Don't see why not. I believe it has been done before.

Only thing you may want to look out for is a 3" piping system which might be a little big for the V6 resulting in a loss of low end torque, but that's just what I've read. a 2.5" and up should result in slightly lower tones.

I am going to install a ZL1 NPP exhaust into my v6. Base on my measurement, it would bolt up on from cat back. However, modification is required on axle back, due to small (2 1/4) on the v6 after the H pipe.
