Annoying Vibration with After Market Exhaust

I recently had a cat back exhaust installed on my V6 and am now regretting it (a little). The sound is generally pretty good. I realized going in that the car is a V6 so it will never sound like a V8. My problem is that there is a very annoying vibration inside the cab in the 2000 to 3000 rpm range. The system does have resonators installed that look very similar to the stock setup.

My question is for those of you that have installed aftermarket cat back systems, have you noticed an objectionable vibration or harmonic in the cab.

For now I do not want to mention the manufacture of my system, because I am trying to get them to help me fix this. And to be honest I do not really blame them, this was their first V6 so my car was a bit of a test mule for them.

Thanks.

I ran into that EXACT SAME PROBLEM with my last car. Ever since I put on the cat-back system I had a annoying vibration that would occasionally pop up when I was at idle, right underneath me. It drove me nuts. I thought it was the cat itself, so I even replaced that, with no luck.

I ultimately just chalked it up to being "aftermarket", because no matter what, best fitment will always be OEM.

It is usually because the installer mounts it too tight to the undercarriage. When the pipes vibrate and move under load it chatters into the heat shield.

This happened in my 2007 SKY Redline when I installed the Magnaflow Cat Back System. The solution...............I went under the car where I heard the noise, felt for the tightest spot, put a cloth over a crow bar and carefully pried down. PROBLEM SOLVED, and 2 years later it never came back!

Seriously!

Hmmm, cubican must be a Corsa fan :-) The Corsa folks pride themselves on offering a virtually drone-free cabin experience with their exhaust system (part of why it's so expensive) and that's why I went with their exhaust. I do mostly longer distance driving and drone would drive me cRaZy!

The vibration causes the noise= drone. Because you have the one you get the other.

it could be drone OR, your exhaust was not put on correctly. If your having this problem at idle and lower speeds, then it's incorrect installation

It is drone. Only happens under load between about 2200 and 2800 rpm. Usually when cruising on the highway going up a slight incline.

Every muffler has a resonance zone. The trick is to tune the muffler into an rpm range that is above or below the cruise rpm of the car. Affected by case length type of baffling etc.
