Wired sound from engine.

2013 camaro 2LT RS
While driving between 2000-2200RPM, the engine starts making a wierd sound (kind of hissing or i say whistling with more air than sound).
If I release my gas pedal - it goes away(as the RPM gets lower).
If I pedal more, it increase exponentially until it crosses that 2200RPM and then goes away.

Any suggesstions?

Some of the posters on this forum have had this problem. If i remember correctly, it had something to do with the heater core. Comes from passenger floor? Sounds like hissing forced through water? Google it see if symptoms are familiar.

this may sound stupid, but do you have an aftermarket air intake installed?

Ok. Its possible the heater core vent needs replacing. Take it in and explain that to the dealer. Have a tech go with you to verify the sound. Good luck. Let us know the outcome, or if you need more help.

I saw the title of the post and thought someone was trying to replicate the engine sound through the speakers like BMW and Ford have done recently. Then I realized "wired" should have really been "weird"...

ha! I did the same thing! Thought to myself "damn, glad I got an SS...no wired sound necessary with headers/exhaust!"
