4 gauge pack: Pros and cons?
My car is a 2SS, and I've come to the conclusion that the 4 pack gauges are completely useless and I "think" I would rather have the 1SS console.
Does anyone else feel this way about their 2SS? Do any of you actually use your 4 pack gauges? |

They are kind of pointless, and the extra storage of the 1ss would be nice.
That being said, I think they look cool. However, I never look at them |

I look at them all the time... Nice to know everything is in check. With that said, I would LOVE the storage space.

I added them to my 1SS and check them often. It's good to know when the car is truly warmed up. Storage space is what the cup holders are for...

They aren't useless by any means! provide alot on info on vehicle. But having to take your eyes off the road to check it, SUCKS

They are very useful if you know how to use them.
1. They let you know when your engine is up to operating temp and when to rip. 1a. Same goes for the transmission 2. They will alert you to a problem before it becomes a problem, most idiot lights don't come on until its way too late and all you can do is pull over and call someone. 2a. Say your oil pressure always runs at 30 PSI, but all of a sudden you notice that it is at 20. This isn't low enough to turn on the idiot light, but you know something isn't right and will need to be checked. You know have the option of trying to get home or to the shop without a tow as long as the PSI remains steady. The other good part is that you found the problem before the PSI got so low as to cause the idiot light to come on, which is usually after damage has started. |

I kinda like having the extra storage for my cell phone. BUT, if anyone wants to trade their 4 pack, hit me up!
worth a shot...

I look at the Oil Temp and that is about it .. as far as having anything useful while driving though I don't think it is up to par since you would have to take your eyes of the road and put them way down by the shifter .. That is why I did the ADM Boost gauge just under the speedo/tac ..
BTW .. if I were to get a ZL1 (which has the boost gauge in the 4 pack gauges), Id still do the ADM or some other gauge that would put this somewhere a little more convenient. Crowley

I agree with just about everybody here. And let me clarify actually, I know the gauges serve a very useful purpose, they give you very useful information. The thing is though, for me personally, I would make better use of the extra storage space. Just sayin....

I like mine. Check them often for some of the same reasons that were already mentioned.
Mine is not a daily driver so I'm not interested in extra storage. Bottom line, I wanted to add an option that relected the Gen 1 console. |

Yep. I have them on my 2LT, and have never used them. It's a victory of form over function really. If they were indeed important, then the information would be placed right in front of the drivers eyes, rather than tucked away in obscurity. All this talk of "I use them to know when my car is warm enough to let rip" etc. is utter bollocks. In 30 years of driving, I know that ten minutes down the road, every car I've had has been up to full working temperature.
