Pirelli PZero

My Pirelli PZero Tires have 40k mileage on them and wearing from the outside in. Basically on the inside of the tire the tread is almost perfect. On the outside of the tire, they are pretty bare. My 2011 Camaro just failed a Virgina safety inspection because of the tires.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Is this a "Camaro Trait" as the dealer tried to tell me or
Do you think there is an alignment issue.

Keep in mind this is happening on all 4 tires evenly.

I would check the alignment. But at 40k I would say you have gotten every lil bit of use out of your PZeros, and then some. That might be a record here.

agreed. 40k is a lot of miles for a set of PZeros. Wearing more on the outside than on the inside sounds like under-inflation of the tires or bad alignment. But the fact that you got that many out of the PZeros is still great.

On all 4 tires I would have to agree that it sounds like an alignment issue. Is the car stock?

You got 40k is amazing in it self. I would say your wear is do to under inflation.

If that's the case, take it to a reputable shop that deals in alignments (could be your dealer, or somewhere else) and have them check the alignment. I'm betting it's out of whack.

Factory settings are "close enough" and in a window bigger than a truck garage.

I got 40k out of mine, with that said sounds like alignment or under inflated issue like everyone else said.

A lot of the V6's (not all) are getting about 40,000 miles on Pirelli's. I've got allmost 39,000 on mine, but there about ready to be replaced.

The only thing not stock is the exhaust and as far as under inflation goes, I kind of find it hard to believe that all 4 would wear equally if under inflated. The dealer is going to look at it on Saturday and probably tell me that the alignment if off.

I'm glad to hear that 40K is good for PZero's. Guess it's time to pony up for new tires....

Any suggestions on a good all season low profile tire?

I'm really disappointed in my Pirelli PZeros on my 2010 SS.
14,000 miles and the rears are shot. One long trip to Texas from NY, always properly inflated and like 2 short burnouts in 3 years.

V6 auto here and I pulled mine at 23000. Had more life on the fronts but decided to swap them all out.

Ah, I thought I was the only oddball with roughly 35k on the original P Zeros. Its the longest wearing tire I've own with this profile. My previous car ate tires every 12k with a 40 profile, so yearly tire swaps were the norm.

It definitely sounds like under inflation, I wish I thought I was going to get 40,000 out of mine, but hard accelerations aren't helping me.
