Factory GM Supercharger

Just got off the phone from the local dealership. They state they can order the "factory" GM supercharger Part #51128000 for $6,700 and then it would take another $1000 for installation. I am a little bit weary as this is clearly more than an IPF. I also was unable to find any specs on this part #. Any suggestions?

It doesn't exist for the V6.

So the geniuses at the dealership are mistaken then? Sounds about right. Disappointing really. Maybe they were thinking of the SC they have for the SS.

Unless they are selling a 3rd party kit like the IPF supercharger kit (which is not factory), then yes, they are mistaken.

Maybe they thought you was asking about the V8, in which case there is probably a factory supercharger kit.

Looks like I am going for IPF. Just need to find a place to install near Las Vegas.

Any performance shop should be able to do it. But remember that if you want to buy their aftermarket warranty, it has to be installed by an approved ase certified tech. If anything, I'd just call them and see if they have any installers in that area

I'll take the roots blower for the 6 instead. Just waiting for April to swing by.

Yes they must have quoted you for the V8 kit, there is no V6 kit...

We are offering the first two IPF kits we do for FREE installation and FREE before/after dyno pulls, just buy the kit at retail through us

Unfortunately Las Vegas is a bit far... However, IPF is in Arizona so you can go direct to them.

Factory GM Supercharger

My dealer did the same thing last year. I asked if the SC also came with the V8 so it could work correctly. He had to admit they where wrong after looking into it :-)

Give Jesse at IPF a call I'm sure he can work something up for you. He seems to always have something in his back pocket!
