I agree. My track numbers are not relevant, but there was discussion about compression ratio and engine size. I am not a true track junkie, but will have some numbers in a few weeks as we rented the track for some tuning and to get some real numbers.

Those seem like nice numbers for only 12 psi.

They are what they are. I guess all dyno's are a bit different and everyone throws hp numbers around, but they really don't mean much except for judging improvements to a specific car. As was said, its the numbers at the track that really count. The weight diffence by GM specs is only 550 lbs, and I don't know if those weights are for base cars or fully optioned ones. Still a huge difference though.

GM lists it as 3300, which is about 100 more than a C6.

I like my 454 2300 combo, its killer on the street and will give you the number your looking for.You have to build a package for your cubes being carefull to chose the right cr...We have a 402 that makes 835hp at 5200rpm then the tb shut so it will be really close to 900 rwhp when we work the bugs out. This is the car we ran 10.20s about 5-6 years ago and it had a 427......It doesn't really matter to me where its the most efficient, ive never turned a Maggie faster and lost power unless we had belt slip. We usually turn our max builds around 22,000....I have a combo that I think will get me over the 900rwhp mark and it is about stock cubes. I will use a 4.125 bore like a 427 so I can use big ls7 type heads and use a 3.5 inch stroke crank, that way I will have a great piston to pin package....I feel this would get the most power you can get out of the 2300....By the way my 454 2300 makes over 800rwhp on 93 through a 9 inch, you can do it with big cubes or small cubes you just need to understand what to do for your particular build. Good luck if I can help you out give me a call.

Thanks Thomas, have you tracked your car with the 454? Its gonna be awhile before I do anything just gathering info. I want an enclosed trailer first and I have about 10K left on our wedding/honeymoon left to pay on. Should have all that done by next summer, and the wife just graduated from school and has her RN degree and started work so I should have some of my money freeing up soon.

You need to slap some slicks or at least some DRs on that thing and see what its got. If we get to some where you can run slicks or my DRs lol not that you don't already have access to some.

Since you started, actually I run 11.30s on my 22s,its a street car so I keep the same tires I run on the street. You do realize if you had a sixspeed in your car it would be a mid to high 10 second car right? Well assuming you could drive

I hear ya, I'm not ready to make my car a drag/street car either..... yet. In a few years prolly. You must have had a decent MPH for an 11.30 on 22's

It runs good for what I built it for,i do have a goal to run 10s on the 22s,i think I can do it.Its easy to get a number with an auto but with a sixspeed you got to have some skills lol...Are you going to Holley fest?
