and they were driving what again? forget them OP. even if THEY dont think it has "go" you still win with the "show" part. Meaning they somewhere in there wish they had a Camaro to drive.

My brother in law who has a V8 Trans Am would tell me every day while I was shopping please get a V8 if you get a V6 its like buying a gun with no bullets.
I ended up with the V6 because its my every day car even in the snow. If I ever get a SS I would store it in the winter. Anyways he drove my V6 and he was really surprised how well it took off and handled it self. My brother came over and was teasing me that his 2003 V8 Lincoln can beat me in a race, but my brother in law thinks that that my car can take it with no problem. Either way to each his own. |

I am all about the V8 and true muscle and would never be caught dead in a V6 camaro.
With that being said, I respect the V6 and totally understand why people buy them, I also think their power is impressive. To that idiot who made that comment, he obviously doesnt know that your V6 Camaro has more "go" than say a 1996 Camaro SS and I doubt this person would call that car all show and no go.

Holy crap-load of misinformation in this thread. Makes me wonder if people know what they purchased.
The V6 does NOT have 330hp nor does it have 326. It has 323 with the LFX. No, it is not faster then a LT1 era 4th gen as they ran around 13.7-13.9 stock, while most V6s are in the low/mid 14 range. No it does not have more power then an LS1 either, those cars may have been rated at 320hp but they were actually 350-360. People forget 2 very important things when talking about the V6s in these cars. 1) Weight 2) Torque -Yes 323hp is "alot" but not when shoved in a 3800lb car. -3.27 gearing (or in the 2LS case 2.92) hurts these cars as they need a better gear to get moving I'm not trying to put down any V6 owner (I owned one over a year myself and really did enjoy it!) but facts are facts. To the idiot that called your car all show and no go - obviously that's not the truth - however you do have the slowest of all V6 Camaros. Not that there is anything wrong with that but just keep that in mind.

Alright, but can I at least say my V6 is faster than the third gen V8's ? I believe my 87 Camaro had a 83 or 82 corvette engine, and it was rated at 190HP !!!! but hey, I had the V8 so I was far supior than any mortal driving a v6 . |

I think because all 5th gens look the same but it is a huge difference in performance and being a V6 it looks ok but the performance factor is lacking (compared to a V8). I do agree which is why i got a V8

In 1985, I purchased a brand new V-6 Camaro. I am a V-8 guy, but I test drove both. The V-8 had a carb (which I do like, since I can tear a carb down and rebuild it in 20 minutes, or slap on a new one in ten). BUT... the V-6 was fuel injected and it just had more get-up-and-go in it. My choice was not based on fuel savings, since I can remember filling up a tank for like $7.00. Today, I would not buy the V-6 Camaro because I want that big breathing power, and I don't have anywhere far to go. If I had needed it for as a daily driver though, and if I didn't work out of my home and had to drive a lot of commute miles, I would have had to get the V-6 on gas saving alone. There always is a reason for a choice, and the choice is always yours and yours alone.
When someone says what they said to you, just smile and say, "You're absolutely correct." People hate it when their comment's back fire on them. In fact, I might even add a few comments, like... "Exactly. It's friggen slow like a turtle, man." Then give them an evil little grin.

OP, the fact that you posted about it means you are probably offended in some way. I suggest you get over it, immediately, and trust your own reasons why you bought the car and like it in the first place.

Don't let it bother you. I owned a 2LS and there is nothing wrong with the car. Racergirl ran a 13.9 in hers stock and I definitely would not call that slow.
