Whats next after Jannetty ZL1 750 package

Looking at Jannetty's up old thread to decide whats next for my car. I pretty much have the same in the first post except kooks headers and no cats. I have a great running email tune but still need to get him some AFR numbers

Currently:

Rotofab CAI
Rotofab res, Afco HE
Vmax ported 90 mm TB
JRE rough Idle cam
ATI superdamper
LPE-28% pulley
Metco 50 mm Idler
kooks LT headers ceramic coated.
Stock exhaust
Moroso catch can
JMS fuel pump voltage booster
ID-850 injectors.
SCT X4 tuner
JRE custom tuning.

I am about to install dual wide band afr and an aeroforce gauge to get Ted more info on his last tune.

Trying to decide on whats next for more hp, small nitrous shot from nitrous outlet(bar setup and progressive controller, or go flex e85

i can get 103 octane local but hard to find e85 in md / northern va

I will call the shop after the holidays, any local thoughts?

JRE 750

I also have the 750 kit and tune. Ted would not even tune my car without the wideband. It's a must to get the fuel trims correct. I would love to do E85. We have it everywhere here. I do have two tunes from JRE, one 93 street tune and one 98 strip tune using torco.
When I did my cam install I added a melling oil pump, new lifters and guides. I also finally replaced my spring isolator and put in a solid coupler while it was apart. Chevy dealer did mine, and would not put the cam in without a complete tear down. So from the block up everything is new. Also got a new water pump, mine was seeping coolant on the back side after only 26,000 miles.

You've done all the basic stuff so far. If you want to step it up now you should port the blower, port the heads, and go E85 and DSX aux pump kit.

I am considering the DLG-1 dual gauage as well as one aerforce interceptor gauge in a 2 gauge pod either located in center speaker area or vent pod. (although thinking 2 may be overkill and one gauge one vent or steering column may be enough)

I am looking at how to make sure they are connected properly to datalog along with the other pids at the same time through the SCT.

It looks like i will need the external input cable also.

Any thoughts on the DLG-1 vs using the Aeroforce Bosch AFR inputs?

Happy New Year Damon, we are back from the holiday and open for business.

If E-85 is not available locally that presents a challenge, either drive long distances or buy it in the drums and store it locally.

E-85 also requires 30% more fuel delivery from the fuel pump and injectors, this means auxiliary or larger fuel system must be installed.

If you are still on ID-850s they will be taxed as well when making over 750 HP on E.

You can use this calculator to determine correct injectors which I feel is ID-1300s http://injectordynamics.com/injector-selector/

Now on Race gas you would not have to change any parts simple switch fuels and tune add a little more boost and you can make a good gain for little money.

Porting of the blower and a good set of heads can also add power but at significant cost.

You can only use so much power on a given tire and suspension set up so you have to decide what best fits your needs.

Feel free to give me a call 203-753-7223

Thank you for your business

Ted.

Just ordered a PLX Wideband and an Aerforce for a center dash mount. Let me get you some good numbers on both 93 and Race gas then will call and talk about next steps.

thanks for all of the help so far. The cars runs exceptional with your tune and cam kit.

Do you have a dead body in the trunk LOL, your about 500 lb more than my automatic ZL-1 at 4400 lb with driver, I didn't' know Convertibles were that heavy.

500 lbs is about a 1/2 second slower so I would expect so you can run mid 11s high 10s where I would expect a normal weight Z to run low to mid 10s.

Wow five passes all between .04 of a second is ridiculously consistent.

To the OP,

You have lots of room left with the LSA...

Heads
Ported Blower/Snout/TB
5" Intake
E85 (Or Race Gas, but I'd recommend E85 and a set of ID1050s. Reason is, 850s will be taxed, 1050s will be at ease, and 1300s will hardly even feel the load)
More pulley. You're running a 22.5% or 9.5" lower correct? You'd probably want to change that to a 9.1" and then put a 2.55" upper on (In combination that's 36%), which will get you right at/a few hundred RPM over the "red zone" safe area without going crazy. Or you could put a 10" lower on which is 28%. You'll want E85 or Race gas to cool that kind of pulley. The Cam and Heads will help to alleviate the high boost. I'd also recommend going with a HX upgrade, though they can have negatives as Ted may point out, they will help to keep your IATs down between runs.
More stuff if you want. HP is only a medium of money.

I mean you could put a 416 and a Whipple if you wanted and really go crazy. Do you have a power goal?

Good job, Right where I predicted you should be, now we just have to work on that 60 ft time you need to be in the 1.5s that is where your 10 second passes are.

It is easy for some to just throw money at it.

Throwing more power at it before you optimize what you already have can actually make the car slower by inducing more tire spin.

I take the approach of doing a lot with a little, lets work on dialing in what he has there are several 1/10s left on the table.

Ted.
