Eaton Truetrac/3.91 gears upgrade

I did my first non bolt-on upgrade a couple of weeks back. Ted Jannetty's shop up in Waterbury Ct. It's about a two hour ride from where I am in Long Island NY. Ted's son Teddy personally worked on my car. Before any work started Teddy brought me under the car and gave me a full evaluation. First thing he pointed out were the wires to my oxygen sensors were hanging dangerously low next to the exhaust pipes. Recently, I had one wire burned and had to replace the O2 sensor.(East Hills Chevrolet in Freeport Long Island.) When the dealership diagnosed the issue they said they would rewire everything and make sure both wires were tied up. I figured yes they are charging me $$$ but they will do the right complete job. Hah WRONG. Also my subframe connector was busted as the shop that installed my KN coilovers lowered the car too much. When I originally did the installation I was uncomfortable with the ride height but was convinced hey it looks great. How the hell the dealership missed the broken connector is beyond me. LAST visit to any Stealership.

It took about a week for the posi unit/gears (3.91) to be built . As promised, I got the call 7 days later. Chris made arrangements so I could bring the car in on Saturday morning 8am.

The shop is awesome and they can do just about anything you need. As I was waiting in Ted's office he was updating my tune from 5 years ago. He explained there have been a number of updates and with these gears the car is gonna run like a scalded dog. Ted has a number of camaros and that's the guy I want working on my car. The unit was swapped out along with a couple of other goodies test driven done by 11 am.

I can understand fully why Jannetty Performance has such a great reputation. Bottom line you cant let just any mechanic work on your car. And yes my SS is driving like a scalded dog.

Yup, the 3.91 gearing really helps get the car moving. Feels like it lost 500lbs. Enjoy it!
