Sorry, the only way to disable the afm, as far as I know anyway, is to perform an LS3 conversion. This means changing out the lifters etc. Like I said I don't believe afm can be disabled with a simple tune, however, I really wanna get rid of it just as you do, so
I'll keep looking.

Not true. It can easily be tuned out. Also no reason to bounce back and forth. The dealer would know if they checked anyhow so why bother. You can't fool them. The computer logs everything. My guess is theyd never notice unless the looked.

Just tune that sucker and enjoy! The LS3 conversion does away with the VVT not the AFM. The AFM is computer controlled.

The Diablosport Predator that I have seen for sale in the used section will do it!! Be advised that the word is that a dealer can tell the number of times the ECM has been flashed. Although, I have yet to see anybody refused warranty work while they changed back to the stock tune before going back to the dealership for warranty work. It is your call on what chances you want to take though.

The ONLY hand held tuner that has full systems support for both the engine and Trans is SCT X3.

I offer these with a Free tune for simple bolt ons, then fully support any future part purchases from us with FREE tunes as well.

Ted.

How much? I have done the muffler delete and added a CAI. I mainly just want to eliminate the drone I am getting. Would like to try a tune prior to adding mufflers.

What about the SF3? Doesn't it disable AFM and allow trans tuning as well?

True, mine is disabled, my car has gone to warranty issues with no problem.

When I removed the AFM through a tune last year, it stopped all drone with your setup. No issues from that point at all. Before, my head almost split one day when accelerating during highway speeds. The tune is worth it.

Buy the tuner off my site the tune is FREE.

The SF3 does not have custom tunes for mod parts, only can tunes for stock vehicles and it cost nearly the same.

I put Solo-performance axle back J-pipes on my L99. It's the same as a muffler delete but no droan- Best of both worlds. I didn't want to loose my power train warranty with a tune.

Ernie, do you have an L99? I thought you had the LS3.

I have an L99 and had Ted set up the tune with the SCT3 tuner he sells. It was incredible for a million reasons. That tuner (and yes, it goes back to stock) with Ted's tuning (his support is top notch too) and you will get everything you are looking for plus a TON of power increase!
