Dry lifter, any advice?

I bought my 2012 SS a few months ago. They hadn't changed the oil before placing it on the lot, part of the deal was they would service the car when I bought it. Had it for a while before the appointment came up. I took it in, it did fine for about 2 months and now on startup only after it's been parked for a long time, over night or through a shift at work, it has what sounds like a dry lifter. Again, only at start up and only for a second. Has anyone else had this problem? Or can anyone just give me some information on this problem? What causes it, how to correct it. Thank you guys in advance.

Lots of people had the same faulty lifters.....search the forums here and you'll get educated on the issue....there's a TSB on the afm lifters. Welcome and good luck

Got the AFM lifters replaced with an improved design, per the TSB and under warranty.

Mine does it every day. Its normal for a little clatter for like a seconds as oil fills the lifter its gonna do this but it should go away. If it is constant or above a second I would suspect AFM lifter if u got an automatic like me.

These V8 Camaros have their own personalities. MY 2012 V6 WAS SILENT.

After lifter replacement, I have NO clatter...not even for a second. The clatter is due to a faulty lifter design and is not acceptable.

Hmmm I have a 2015 Silverado does it too. Is this something should take in now to the dealership?

Seems to me the lifter is bleeding out its oil charge upon shutdown?

Mine doesn't do it every time I start it. Some mornings and some evenings, no matter the temperature, it doesn't do it. Only some times. For a week or two, it did it every time. Since it is out of warranty, what lifters would you guys recommend?
