If you're already planning on LT headers in Aug. I'd rather have a nicely selected cam package.

A nicely selected cam package with supporting mods (LT headers, intake) will net you 450 - 500 rwhp. With some drag radials and good driving you should be able to run high 11s in the 1/4 mile.

Also a cammed LS3 just sounds bad axx.

But a nicely selected cam package + installation will cost you more money than gears.

You can always add gears after your cam setup if you want a little more performance. But I wouldn't pass up a chance to get a cam if I had it.

I have supplied the shop with the Kooks headers,high-flow cats, plugs and wires. To install the custom cam, springs, gaskets, underdrive pully, belts, recharge AC,etc.etc.etc total cost comes to $2,511 with tax. I have not commited yet so I do not have the specs on the cam. Seem like a fair price for cam, related parts, and installation of my supplied headers, cats, plugs, wires and dyno tune?

What kind of mpg decrease can you expect with 4.10 gears?

We have had several customer running 4.10s in Camaros with the M6 who do mostly in town driving report 1-2 mpg gains! For most customers fuel mileage either stays the same or they lose 1-2 mpg. Running 70-75mph will still have you turning under 2000rpm.

If you have an auto I would suggest 3.73s.

PM sent on the pricing. It is absolutely not a DIY project for 95% of people. It is very involved (usually about an 8 hour install for someone who knows what they are doing) and requires a bit of "artistry" as Apex Paul puts it.

Just picked up my 1SS M6 this week and have already thought about a set of 4.10's. I'm not too far for a road trip down for a gear swap (Lafayette). Just curious about pricing. Can you send me a PM on the parts & install Chase?

your best bet for torque is a 6bt transplant. seriously i would choose gears before the headers and definatly before the cam. but if they have to pull the motor for the headers then i would say do the cam while its out. they may not have to pull it on this specific car im just saying if.
