Bolt on camaro need help lost 6mph in 1/4 don't know why
Please help ! I have a SS with cam intake header exhaust tune nitto nt05s it's putting out 458 to the wheels I ran the car a year ago in florida to palm beach international raceway some of you might know it as moroso and ran a 12.4 with a 2.2 60ft at 118 felt great for such a bad 60ft until the 3rd run i snapped a joint on a axle but now a year later and some 1000hp axles i ran it in Michigan to Milan dragway got a 2.08 60ft ran 12.5 at 112 the car trapped 110 111 stock I'm not sure what the problem is other then maybe the cars been sitting too much I only get to drive it once a week if I lucky some times it goes 2 weeks but had a 35 mile drive to get to the strip and got on it a few times to clear it out somewhat and I can't say it was the weather because in Florida it was 80 degrees and here in Michigan it was 65
PLEASE HELP ASAP before I put a 200 shot on it lol |

NT05s? Or NT05Rs? 12.4 with a cam something is wrong! But this type of summer weather is going to effect you big time! Is it an auto or stick?

What is the elevation on that track? PBIR is barely above sea level. Also what was the humidity level? It could be a very dry 80 and a very muggy 65 and make a huge difference. Lastly, were you finishing in same gear on both tracks?

Install the 200HP shot & call it a day.

Could be a lot of things, my first question would be what the DA was on both days, temperature only tells you a small part of that story.
I'd also want to see a datalog of it going down the track now, that gives you a lot of good information such as...is the fueling off, is it pulling a lot of timing for some reason, etc |

I actually just went through this. I have a pretty medium cam, nothing too crazy, but I also have PTB, Headers, UD Pulley, Cutouts, and CAI. Got a 12.5@111mph on stock tires with a 2.06 60'. Took my car to get retuned by Rhino79 (a reputable tuner in AR) and he found that the stock timing tables were left, rev limited had not been raised, just a bunch of stuff. He picked up about 20-25 hp & tq for me.
I would definitely look at the tune first and see what is going on with it. I haven't been back to the strip since the retune, but the car feels like it pulls a hell of a lot better than before.

I would do some data logging first. I would guess that your timing is being pulled some which would cost you some top end power. Might have been something as simple as bad gas or something more serious. Either way, if you're already getting knock that 200 shot might not be the best idea.

a bolt on car making that much power is not right to begin with and trappin 118 in a bolt is not right either. unless u have a bunch of other stuff u done to cut weight and this and that. 112 sounds about right to me. time is caculated so the drag strip could of been off a little. i know that i see a 1-2 between the tracks i go to. with da being around the same. but if da was in the -. then 118 could happen. So now ur getting in normal air 2000 3500 for this time of year.
