considering your heat soak issues looks like I'll be figuring out how to keep my bay cool while the car sits over the winter. maybe some hood vents. mhmmmm

Don't think I will be installing the new driveshaft now, took my stock one out but the CV joint plate won't line up with the flanges on the differential. The driveshaft was for a V6 to 1LE differential, but had heard a few say they were able to use their stock driveshaft and couplers with the SS differentials. The stock couplers are rubber so they can flex the extra 1/8th of an inch, the DSS uses a steel plate.
Have to wait till I get a 1LE differential now, whenever that will happen. |

Took the stock manifold off last night and there was pools of methanol beside the runners, something that never happens with my ported manifold. Best guess is the rough edges of the stock manifold is causing the air to slow down enough that the methanol is falling out of suspension.
Ported manifold is not going to last too long, the filler is brittle now. Gotta hope the LFX manifold is better. |

Probably, you can see around the edges of the filler where it is pulling up. I will probably end up buying an LFX manifold from you eventually, tired of dealing with this one because it is a MACE one.

Wife gave me permission to take the 5.0 to the track tomorrow, will be able to see how a tuned auto 5.0 compares to my boosted V6 at the same track around the same DA. Will go back to the track with the Camaro when I get the LFX manifold. I know what it does right now, no point in risking damage before I throw the 3.33" pulley on.

Here you go, from a photographer at the track.

Went to the track last night with my Mustang 5.0 and ran a best of 12.94 @ 110 in 2500 DA, tune needs work because it is running too rich at the top of 3rd gear.
Main thing though, I edited this timeslip to show the Mustang on the left, my Camaro V6 on the right. If you look at the 1/8th mile trap speed and the 1/4 mile trap speed, it should give you an idea of how much power my Camaro really has. In 2 weeks I will see if the LFX Intake Manifold can help the first 1/8th of the track by not having a heated manifold causing knocking. May also request Arno from IPF make me a transmission tune that screws longevity of the transmission and make it shift extremely hard. My Mustang was chirping 3rd gear last night, it is an awesome feeling. I know my Camaro has that same power in it, just needs an aggressive tune. |

You said the 5.0 Mustang is already tuned? Or stock tune? An old guy here has been running 12.9x on the stock tune, with stock tires. The only mod he's done was to strap on some drag radials and it got him into the 12.7x with no other changes.
I shipped the LFX stuff yesterday. |

My 5.0 is tuned by Steeda, canned tune. I did a datalog last night and 3rd gear needs work, running 10.4 rich with some light knocking. Was using stock tires, but if you correct for the DA I ran a 12.59 @ 113.85. Wanted a good base run which I got, had fun doing it. My Camaro feels more powerful on the street than my Mustang, but either the intake manifold is heatsoaking or the intercooler. I'm thinking it is the intake manifold since it shares a room with stainless steel headers. I'm hoping for the LFX manifold to shave 0.5 seconds off my times. |

I think 0.5 seconds is wishful thinking... But I'd sure love to see it.

Crazier things have happened, I gained 0.8 seconds just by switching to 10% ethanol. These engines love timing, if I can get back 5 degrees it will be huge.
