...another major rate qualification..

CREDIT REPORT dictates the majority of rates.

Insurance companies discovered an additional way to "tax" you in case you were a good driver, eligible for lower rates, but less than stallar on handling credit.

Apparently, bad credit means you can't drive good...well, at least that's how they think...They say 'statistically' poorer credit customers are less responsible and higher risk for an accident or claim..whatever...

Your driving record weighs heavily upon your rate, but so do things like vehicle safety (aka 4 star frontal rating), number of accidents in this vechicle per number on the road, severity of accidents, etc.

As far as I can tell injury costs aren't as high statistically as is the the probability of your car being wrecked. Look at your rate breakdown for collision vs bodily injury liability. Most of your rate goes to how high the probability is that your particular vehicle will be in an accident and how much it will cost to repair. Really, that boils down to statistics. If people are crashing left and right in your car, statistically speaking, you're more likely to get into an accident. Your ins company will more than gladly charge you for that.

it's not how safe these cars, it's how DAMN LUCKY that guy is that he wasn't the one ripped in half. I can't imagine the speeds he must have been going on ice-slicken roads for that power pole to be crashed that far into the car. Purely wreckless and idiotic.

Wonder why summer only tires are on all SS/RS and no other OEM tire option exist? Roads in photos don't look that bad so doubt the tires contirbuted much. It was probably the zero to sixty to zero in 4.8 seconds (plus 90 degree curve) that caused that much damage. Yikes!

The joke here for those who haven't figured it out is that , heck yes this is very old. It keeps popping up in various locations on the Internet and ends up being resurrected here.

I know I have had a bunch of people send me this as news....... YAWN

Sorry about that. But, ya gotta laugh about the continuation of this growing "Urban Legend" so to speak. Soon we will be hearing amplified versions, where three passengers were killed, Etc.. Etc... Etc...

In a way I guess it's our pet zombie thread. So by way of explanation, it zooms back up the list again.
