I bought and installed a BendPak 4 Post Lift, Extra Wide, 9,000-lb. Capacity HD-9XL last fall. Will handle my Camaro or my 3500 Chevy Dually with a couple of blocks to get the rear wheels on the truck to clear the rear crossbar on the lift. Purchased thru ASEDeals.com. Half the price of a Backyard Buddy, if I remember correctly, and free shipping. Came via truck freight from California. If you only need to lift a Camaro or something comparable, a 7000 lb lift would be more than enough.
Very happy with this lift.

I just use Hover mode.

I picked up this lift from Greg Smith Equipment online 5 years ago for $1,200 delivered.

I've had my BYB for more then twenty years with no problems, not the cheapest on the market but it's a life time investment.....it's made in Ohio as you probably know also.

I was kind of disappointed when I found out the Bendpak was made in China. I don't recall it saying anything is the sales literature but saw it on the packaging when I received mine.

I use an Eagle 2-post asymmetrical with 2 ft. extension for my pickup.

I have a challenger CL10V3 10,000 lb lift in my garage. Absolutely love it and like have a 2 post over any other style because it allows full access to the underside of the vehicle.

If you want to have choices on brand & load rating you should plan for a minimum of 12 ft clearance.

If you have a specific brand and model already selected then you can probably get an install sheet from the manufacturers website that will tell you the minimum clearances required to install their lift.

Another plus with taller ceilings though is you get better light distribution from your overhead lights.
