Cool What Is The Deepest Exhaust You Have Heard?

I'm not asking for myself I just want to hear about people's different opinions. For example you think 2.5 vs 3 inch makes a difference? Or what's the deepest system u heard maybe stainless works retro or JBA competition or flowmaster American thunder, super 44's..? I think it's muffler delete with headers is the deepest I heard especially the idle. (No cam lol that doesn't count, and of course headers make anything sound deeper)

I'm not really sure that deeper is equal to louder in this respect. However, for what it's worth, I think the common denominator I've seen, is some sort of high flow cat - short tube or long tube headers didn't always make a difference, an aftermarket resonator (i.e.: vibrant) and a 40-44 series flowmaster. I also think that the more piping you have after the muffler, the better the overall tone. These new systems where the muffler is at the bumper, just don't provide the same tone.

After spending the last few days listening to exhaust systems and researching them, it seems like the deepest catback is the Flowmaster outlaw exhaust system. I went with the SW retro chambered cat back. It seemed pretty deep and I like the tone.

Haven't really heard one on a 5th gen....mostly due to design, muffler position and overall sound of an LSx. My neighbor has a '64 Fairlane with 351 and custom 3" exhaust that sounds like what most of us envision as the true muscle car sound. Have to remember its not as much the exhaust as the engine note itself.

Never heard a deep sounding gen 5 Camaro. Nothing beats the sound of a highly built big block. And I mean a real big block. It isn't the the exhaust that makes the sound. It's the motor. The deepest sounding factory built motor that I've heard lately is the 572 big block. Chevy had one on a run stand at Carlisle. That thing sounds awesome.

Look up solid roller 5th gens on Youtube. They are much deeper and aggressive sounding than the typical 5th gens. I think Rhino@GPI has one.

We've seen good results with the "Kooks Street Sleeper"

http://marylandspeed.com/kooks-stree...ck-p-2977.html

As well as the catbacks from Billy Boat

http://marylandspeed.com/bb-sport-ca...05-p-2848.html

Both of these have nice, deep tones! If anyone has any questions please feel free to call us anytime

So you guys think it sounds better with the muffler further from the bumper?

Before anyone throws a fit - yes I understand these are very different engines and exhaust notes are dependent on many variables within the engine, however, with that said, listen to the exhaust setups on Challengers. They have a overhead valve, pushrod motor similar to ours (albeit different, yes). Their muffler is a mid system setup, also similar to how the old 2v 4.6 Mustangs were. The similarities on their exhaust note is almost uncanny and pretty badass.

Not sure what's up with the antifreeze but, this is a decent video to show the tone;

Challenger R/T with longtubes and flowmasters.

2002 Mustang GT longtubes and flows, too.

Yea I like the hollow sound flowmasters make. Especially the older mustangs(pre 2005) make that hollow sound big time it sounds so different then any other V8. I think I might get flowmasters just gotta find the one that makes that hollow/metallic sound the most
And lol that antifreeze

I had a 2003 GT with an off-road prochamber and 10 series flowmasters. Prolly the best overall tone for a vehicle I've owned personally. However, I think long tubes would have refined the tone a bit more, it was still fantastic. I think if someone were to be a bit adventurous and get long tubes, catless mid pipe and weld in some 10 series flowmasters in the middle, then run some pipe to the bumper, it would sound pretty damn awesome.
