It would just be nice if we had casinos in Ohio.

As a former smoker (3 years now) I didn't smoke indoors at home or in public. When I was a smoker, I didn't eat in the smoking section of restaurants and when the restaurant has one we sit as far away as we can. Having said that, I am a huge proponent of the Owner's Right to determine whether or not they allow smoking. Government can step in and implement no smoking policies in Government Buildings only. They have NO RIGHT to tell an business owner what they can and cannot do with a legal product. If I want to go to a place that allows smoking, I get to weigh my desire to go against the discomfort that results from being in a smoked filled environment. I don't think the government should be able to force a business owner to restrict smoking.

I believe that the owner should beable to do as they please. but i voted for places with no food just because I hate to be eating and smelling smoke.
whatever happened to good old fashioned smoking sections, lol.

i have a suspicion that most the people who voted "not at all" are not really casino patrons (meaning substantial time is spent on the casino floor); this is why i asked for people to kindly explain their position
...still waiting? Last edited by Georgie; 10-21-2008 at 09:42 PM. |

I'm a smoker...and have spent a little time in casinos...
I do not smoke at home...I do not smoke in my G8...I do not smoke around kids - ever. However, I think that if you're going somewhere like a bar or casino where you know that people smoke you should get over it. Here in Washington D.C. we can't smoke in any building...fine, I can deal. I understand. But, I don't think the government should be allowed to dictate where people can smoke. On the other hand, I think smokers should be more considerate of non-smokers and children like I am. |

Personally not being a smoker it pisses me off when smokers say, "well if you dont like it just dont go there bc Ill be smoking."
Why should I have to put up with YOUR bad habits! Dont get me wrong Im all for people killing themselves with legal chemicals and all that but dont intrude on my good fun. |

your rights end where the smokers begin.....why should a person who owns a business not be able to determine its use. just for clarification, i do not smoke or drink, so....I dont go to places were people do.....its common sense.
