Beane is a wizard
The Buffalo Bills traded one of their four selections in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, sending pick No. 144 to the Chicago Bears. In return, the Bears gave the Bills a fourth-round choice in the 2025 NFL Draft. The choice Buffalo sent to Chicago was originally acquired by the Bills in a trade made with those very same Bears earlier this offseason. Buffalo traded offensive lineman Ryan Bates to Chicago to acquire the pick. In this deal, the Bills merely sent that very same pick back to the Windy City in exchange for a future draft choice. Unless the Bills and Bears make a deal next year, the official terms of the Bates-to-the-Bears trade now stands as a 2025 fourth round choice to the Bills in exchange for the versatile veteran offensive lineman. Then he trades 163 to GB for 168 and 219 so he gets back to 10 picks this year The funniest part of that is that pick was originally GB's as well as the Bills had got it from them in the Rasul Douglas trade. So Rasul Douglas and pick 168 and 219 to the Bills for pick 91 Then he gets 95 from KC in the pick 28 to 32 trade

Mel Kipers Draft Grades Buffalo B
I liked several of Beane's other selections. Cole Bishop (60) is a versatile playmaker in the secondary, while running back Ray Davis (128) had seven receiving scores last season, which makes him an interesting player at the next level. DeWayne Carter (95) can get after quarterbacks from his defensive tackle spot, while Sedrick Van Pran-Granger (141) was a three-year starter at Georgia. I could see him challenging veteran Connor McGovern for snaps as a rookie. Off-ball linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio (160) had a great workout at the combine and was one of my risers. This is a good haul, not a great one, and I'm rooting for Coleman to turn into a WR1 in Buffalo so my guy Josh Allen wins an MVP.

For the third year in a row, the Browns select Deshaun Watson in the first round.
Hopefully he stays healthy this year. |

Speaking of Watsons the Bills bring in Troy QB Gunnar Watson for a UDFA tryout.
No relation and about $230m cheaper

Tank Dell WR Texans gets shot in Sanford Florida luckily only a minor wound.
A private event was going on at the venue when a fight broke out and shots were fired, injuring Dell and 9 others. After the shooting, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office identified Christopher Bouie, 16, as the gunman. Full story and pic of the perp in the article https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/27597...beach-florida/

The KC Chiefs extended Travis Swift with a 2yr $34.3m contract.
But is it really 2 years? This looks like a back loaded 1 year deal with only $17m in guaranteed money. Which means there would be little to no cap charge if TK decided to retire after this season.

So the Patriots say the best QB will start...they have 5 on the roster so you would think its the best of anybody but in the article it only mentions Brisket and Maye.
My take is this is not an open competition 1)Brisket... Vet place holder and likely starter 2)Maye...Redshirt year unless Brisket gets hurt 3)Milton... Developmental QB with no chance at starting gig will make roster as 3rd QB as he would get taken from PS 4)Rourke... Former starting QB of the BC Lions in the CFL he should have been given the last 2 games last year after the other 2 guys failed. Will be traded or released as he is most likely to be plucked off the practice squad(Pats plucked him from Jags PS) 5)Zappe Had his shot and will either be shopped or released and signed to the PS if there are no takers https://www.nfl.com/news/jerod-mayo-...era-of-success

In other QB news the Bronco's declined to pick up the 5th year option on Zach Wilson...well duh.
It would be absolutely insane to give this guy $22m guaranteed seeing as the Jets pretty well paid the Bronco's to take him. One year wonders in college should never be drafted 2nd overall. This poor kid had bust written all over him and was over valued and over drafted.he was a 3rd or 4th round guy realistically. I think Bleacher Report said it best...." Really a one-year wonder with his production versus subpar competition". Although they go on to give him a 1st round grade with a comparison to Jeff Garcia an undrafted QB who became a CFL Star before SF came calling. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Garcia https://bleacherreport.com/articles/...w-york-jets-qb
