The same cost as a set of Forgeline but with the assurance that it's a good wheel. Aftermarket wheels are a freaking joke. Roll the dice and see what you get. I might still do it (get Forgelines), espec. if the GMs are 5k, but if they are a descent price I'll be all over that. |

Car and Driver said MSRP starts @47K. I'd expect a 8K dealer markup. My 2010 was 36K and change and when they were first out, dealers were marking up 10K and some people paid it.
The ZL1 is supposed to be 0-60 in 4, My 2SS/RS M6 does that with a cam change, headers, full exhaust, and cai. An Edlebrock SC for 7K and I'm at 47K invested but about 200 more hp than a ZL1. I'd be curious to know if they beefed up the half shafts. I've already broke one using Launch control. Anyone know? Here's the Car and driver link for MSRP. Happy negotiating Camaro lovers! http://blog.caranddriver.com/2012-ch...-around-47000/ |

I like the break in instructions, especially the "don't tow". It mentions changing the axle fluid every 6 hours under competitive use. Whats the norm for everyday driving? If the COST is anywhere NEAR the GT500 then purchasing this car is a no brainer!

But does it have the cool interior "glow" lighting like the SS. I haven't seen it in any interior pictures...Am I missing it or is it not available on the ZL1?

If the door panel inserts are suede I would say they won't. Hard to make suede light up and look good....

Does anyone have details on the special care required for the black painted mohawk? What type of finish is on the mohawk?

I told him, you know what, Viper John, you're right. Why am I trying to get an SS when the car I want is the ZL1...

About the Optional Carbon Fiber Hood?
About the optional Carbon Fiber Hood, if it is optional, what is standard?
Is the standard hood painted the same as the rest of the car or is it just a black paint over the center section of the hood? If the standard is glossy paint to match the body then that, IMO, would be look better than the plain black. My first choice would be real carbon fiber with the cf weave showing. My second choice would be glossy paint to match the rest of the car. My last choice would be a plain black center section. So, back to the question, what is the standard? |
