A drivers race for sure but the ford wins by a hair. The next Z/28 will be a much lighter and faster car and the bar will be moved once again and we all win by virtue of this continual track car competition.

Your hilarious, did you actually list the Z/28 when the '16 2SS will walk the 350 (and R with lite mods) as mentioned by L99CAMA2011?

Dude I test drove a 2016 SS, yup I strongly believe that with a 150 shot of NOS that thing is a 10 sec. car. Scary but true. Also felt more torque down low than the C7 Z51 I rented even though GM claims less power than the C7.

You would be correct.
Fail on GM's part, cutting their own flagship cars throat.

Tighter packaging means that intake and exhaust routing are all somewhat compromised in stock form.

However that same packaging allows for a lower cog and that smaller engine bay is the result of a smaller and lighter overall vehicle.

The HP difference between the two falls within the 1% variance allowable within a production engine. The TQ difference is about 2%, I would've hoped for more from the "tri-y" headers on the Camaro vs the Corvette's manifold.

I know I'm hilarious, but you're wrong.

Zero to 150 mph: 25.1 sec

That's with the 8-speed. With the manual the SS will get absolutely spanked up top. Here's a manual

http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars...-test-numbers/

The GT350 has way better top end than the SS, as any reasonable person should expect. They weigh about the same and the GT350 makes way more power. Torque and that auto will help the SS a lot down low, but up top it'll be all GT350.

You didn't answer my question. I could really care less about some articles at this point (which are mostly paid advertising). We have '16's pulling 12s flat int he 1/4 stock and 10.xx with just a cam and tune.

But hey, did you spend that $70k on a base GT350 yet ?

I see camaro5 members are back in the drag racing business again now that the 16 is out. All people wanted to do on this forum for the last 5 years was talk ring times when the 5th gens & Z28s were getting trounced by bolt on 5.0s at the drag strip. Snowman why would anyone buy a GT350 to drag race.??? Anyone that wants to drag race buys a base GT or 1SS and bolts a supercharger on it and runs in the 9s! Your guys thinking is all wrong! People don't buy Cars like a GT350 for straight line runs! They buy them for track days and collectability. Not to compete with Joe blows SS or GT at a stop light. But I will say this. I just read Car & Drivers comparo between the GT350 and the Corvette Z51 and noticed they had the exact same trap speed of 119! Highest trap I've seen for a 16 SS is 116 so I'm going out on a limb and saying the GT350 will do the walking out on any highway were the two cars might actually come across each other. There's no denying the HP advantage once the motor is spun up in the 350..

Which question, this nonsense?

I clearly did post Z/28 times, so that was either a rhetorical question or you're having some trouble keeping up.

If you're going to ignore the testing from the magazines, what are you basing this idea that the SS will walk the GT350 on? Have you seen a GT350 at the strip yet? Have you driven both? Explain. The reality is the GT350 and SS weigh about the same and one makes a lot more power. With the A8 the torque advantage of the SS will make things a lot closer, but up top it is still going to get waxed by the GT350. M6 vs M6 the GT350 will be quicker all day.

I know you have a chip on your shoulder about money, you made that clear in the other GT350 thread. You should probably get over that, it's a very unappealing quality.
