The next Z/28 will be a much lighter and faster car and the bar will be moved once again and we all win by virtue of this continual track car competition.

Your hilarious, did you actually list the Z/28 when the '16 2SS will walk the 350 (and R with lite mods) as mentioned by L99CAMA2011? |

Dude I test drove a 2016 SS, yup I strongly believe that with a 150 shot of NOS that thing is a 10 sec. car. Scary but true. Also felt more torque down low than the C7 Z51 I rented even though GM claims less power than the C7.

However that same packaging allows for a lower cog and that smaller engine bay is the result of a smaller and lighter overall vehicle. The HP difference between the two falls within the 1% variance allowable within a production engine. The TQ difference is about 2%, I would've hoped for more from the "tri-y" headers on the Camaro vs the Corvette's manifold.

http://www.caranddriver.com/chevrolet/camaro Zero to 150 mph: 25.1 sec That's with the 8-speed. With the manual the SS will get absolutely spanked up top. Here's a manual http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars...-test-numbers/ The GT350 has way better top end than the SS, as any reasonable person should expect. They weigh about the same and the GT350 makes way more power. Torque and that auto will help the SS a lot down low, but up top it'll be all GT350. |

You didn't answer my question. I could really care less about some articles at this point (which are mostly paid advertising). We have '16's pulling 12s flat int he 1/4 stock and 10.xx with just a cam and tune. But hey, did you spend that $70k on a base GT350 yet ? |

If you're going to ignore the testing from the magazines, what are you basing this idea that the SS will walk the GT350 on? Have you seen a GT350 at the strip yet? Have you driven both? Explain. The reality is the GT350 and SS weigh about the same and one makes a lot more power. With the A8 the torque advantage of the SS will make things a lot closer, but up top it is still going to get waxed by the GT350. M6 vs M6 the GT350 will be quicker all day. I know you have a chip on your shoulder about money, you made that clear in the other GT350 thread. You should probably get over that, it's a very unappealing quality. |
